The laserdisc of Cop Land had a commentary by director James Mangold and some deleted scenes that weren't ported over to the DVD or Blu-Ray.

Both are missing extras although they are pretty minor.

The Top Gun still gallery does include a still shot of a deleted alternate ending that isn't found anywhere on the disc though where I believe Maverick is at Goose's gravestone.

Have you ever thought of setting it up like this? This is how I did it in the thread I started on here, makes it easy to read and lets you know what exactly is missing so we know how important or minor the missing extras are.

This is not missing. It is a common misconception, I found it on the Blu-ray:

Go to Extras.

Then highlight Impossible Shots to open the sub menu.

Next, Press Up when Moab is highlighted.

You'll see a selectable IMF icon, press Enter/OK.

Enjoy the MTV Movie Awards skit.

That's a good idea. The list would be much better that way.

Yeah I started a thread but eventually gave up as there is just so much missing. There are many movies I own multiple copies of or haven't even replaced the DVD yet if all the extras are missing (As I'm sure there will eventually be a double dip). I know Bluray is about PQ and AQ first but there's no reason for this many extras to be missing, or in the case of some Blurays for them to be barebones when the DVD was stacked. Even if they at the least transferred the extras over in SD it would be better then nothing, and take up next to no room on the disc so it wouldn't affect the PQ or AQ.

One of the extras missing on so many Bluray discs is it's respective trailer which to some is useless but I always get a kick out of seeing how they advertised the film, especially with older films. This is something that I really don't understand as it would take up next to no room, even in HD.

Again, incorrect. DH2 is missing nothing. DH3 is missing one short 30 second clip.

DH4 is missing a lot of extras (other than the film).

Look two posts above you, you are wrong. As for Live Free or Die Hard, what is it missing? I compared the extras and I didn't see anything missing.

I did a specific comparison between the two. Did you? Or are you repeating what others have said?

The only thing missing from DH3 wasn't even on your list: - "Water Grushing through Tunnel" comparison.

As for LFODH, it's missing:

Deleted and Extended Scenes (3:38)
Gag Reel (7:48)
"Hacker Underworld" Featurette (8:51)
"Homeland Security in a Cyber Age" Featurette (10:00)
"Matt's Path with Justin Long" Featurette (6:43)

Yup. I just stuck the discs in again to make sure I was right.

I'm an anal freak when it comes to extras. I made sure I did my own comparison before getting rid of the discs.

But, trust me, you're not the first to make that mistake. Which also means you're not the first that I've had to correct.

It's disappointing that that they re-released the box set and still couldn't bother to include the missing extras from the first film, the missing extras and unrated cut of Live Free, and the extras from the Yippee Ki Yay bonus disc found on the 2007 re-release DVD box set. To have it all you need to keep a lot of DVDs around when they could have fixed this with the Bluray re-release.

It's strange as Fox went all out and included just about everything with their Alien set, yet they have been nothing but lazy with their Die Hard films, which is just as big of a franchise for them.

In the past, it used to be that there were legal clearance issues that prevented media companies from including all of the Bonus Features from previous home video editions.

Some of the early Fox and Sony titles lacked Bonus Features due to space constraints (BD-25).

Nowadays, I think this is being done intentionally to prevent a massive sell-off of "superseded" editions.

Disney is the prime example.

1) Many of their animated classics require you to access the Disney Vault via BD Live to watch the Bonus Features from the Laser Discs or DVDs.

2) LucasFilm stuff, such as Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

3) The Marvel Phase One box set (you gotta keep Iron Man 2-disc, Iron Man 2 3-disc, and the Target Avengers Exclusive to have all the Bonus Features).

Doesn't look like anybody's mentioned The Fifth Element. The Blu-Ray is quite barebones, whereas there's a two-disc DVD set with something like two hours of documentaries.
