Amazon U2 - The Joshua Tree ($5.99 at Amazon)

It's not the $100+ DELUXE version they recently released, but it's a damn fine album to own on CD for $6...

I looked around for one of their CDs and I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.

Question

Are there very many good songs on The Joshua Tree that are not on U218 Singles?

That one includes a CD of live tracks from Madison Square Garden from 1987. U2 excels the most live, so definitely recommended.

I smiled when I saw the cover, U2 were just kids back then and so was I, when The Joshua Tree was released in 1987 I was 16 going on 17 in late 87'.
[Show spoiler]

And yeah, I hear U2 is great live, they hold the record for the highest grossing tour in all of music don't they?

Yes, a lot more. I'm biased, of course, since it's my favorite album. But, a lot of classics in JT like Running to Stand Still, Red Hill Mining Town, One Tree Hill, and the Mothers of the Disappeared. Hard to keep from listing every single track but I succeeded.

Not to mention the fact that the full-length album version of the greatest rock song in history, "Where the Streets Have No Name", is not available on U218 SINGLES.

The one Amazon has for that price is the 2007 remastered 20th anniversary edition, the latest for 2017 is the 30th anniversary with the live show bonus CD from Madison Square Garden. If you are a casual fan or have never owned Joshua Tree, go with the Amazon deal since its affordable. I have yet to upgrade to the 2017 version as I have plenty of live U2 shows not sure if buying another copy of JT is worth it just for the live show.

I always bought new albums, because I knew that you grew up listening to excellent quality music, especially singers of such proportions !!!!
