Default Ikaruga (Physical Edition) Being Sold

If you missed out at the original print run, as I did, Nicalis has a re-print of Ikaruga up for sale. Easily one of the top-5 shmups of all time. The original CE print copies go for around $170'ish on Ebay.

The Metal Earth collector's edition is $69.99.

$49.99 for the regular edition.

Shipping date only references "this summer." So ship time might be a few months.

Play Asia also has the regular one (multi language) at $53.99, listed as June 29th.

They also have Curse of the Moon Chronicles (1 and 2 multi language) for $31.99, listed as July 13th. Didn't want to make a thread for it.

Solid price for Curse of the Moon, especially if you missed the original from LRG. The 2nd game doesn't go for all that much, but the original game LRG release goes for like $100+.

The Ikaruga Play-Asia release is priced about the same as the Nicalis North American bought individually. Play-Asia might be slightly less if you buy something else to bump the order up to free shipping. All else being equal, I always buy the American version.

Also, for reasons I'm unclear on, it seems Nicalis does not charge tax to people in the U.S. Seems odd as I'm fairly sure Nicalis is an American company that ships from inside the country. Both times I've ordered from Nicalis, shipping was $8.88, with no taxes charged.

Good news! The re-release is about ready to ship out. Both regular and collector's editions are still available for purchase.

Showed up today. Very well packed. Included a Nicalis/Ikaruga keychain(?). Outer slip has a nice foil stamp. Really sturdy slip too. More like a hardbound book cover weight.

Also received mine today and agree 100%. I've bought a few Nicalis collector's/limited editions before and all have been very well put together, and packaged really well. Probably a tab bit overpriced at nearly $80 shipped, but still worth it to me as I love playing and collecting shmups, and Ikaruga is one shmups of the best of all time.

I find it interesting that Nicalis is an American company but usually uses those hard plastic sleeves/baggies typically associated with Japanese collector's editions. I really do prefer that kind of packaging for collector's editions as opposed to the thinner shrink wrap type of seals used for most American releases.
