HUGE DIFFERENCE!!! If setup in the proper way, it is a comparison about how much natural light is available during the night and the day.

Wish I could hear it (PS3 owner)! I hope that someday the PS3 will let me check out DTS HD-MA (a lot of my BDs use this, and I love PCM and True HD), if all the rumors about a firmware update are bunk then I'll have to start thinking about a dedicated player...

I think crackinhedz comments may have been missed here. I just received the Panasonic DMP BD10A for my birthday and it does have 7.1 (8 channel) analog output, the reason I chose (begged for) it over a PS3 to use with my previous generation Yamaha receiver. Still need the PS3 though...

well i would think so i mean the quality of PCM, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS HD-Master audio is made in higher quality then just plain old dolby digital but people claim to not hear the difference well i think they don't have very good speakers if they say something like that

Yes. It's exactly the sound the audio engineers hear in their studios. Completely uncompressed. Smooth and easy on the ears.

If you care anything about audio, the difference between DD and PCM is night and day. I was blown away the first time I heard it on my home setup, I didnt realize that my setup could sound that good.

Edit: I was using 5.1 analogs at the time (before I got the equipment in my sig). Analog outputs is a very important feature, especially to those of you without HDMI.

unfortunately with the surround sound system I have right now will not output HDMI audio. For now, I am running an optical digital cord which is the max that it will play. It sounds amazing, but I'm still saving up for a new one It sucks because my surround system is just a year and a half old!
