I want to check out Iceland to see the Aurora Borealis.

You might want to check out this site.

My wife used it before for Greece and Italy. It provides a guided tour of areas. Good for people who aren't necessarily familiar with the area.

Question Kilimanjaro

I'm planning a trip to Tanzania later this year to climb Kilimanjaro, followed by a short safari afterwards. I've already done a great deal of research, so I don't really need any recommendations for tour operators. What I'm looking for are first-hand accounts from those who have done the climb - specifically, I'd like to read about peoples' experiences regarding the following:
  • How much, and what type of training (if any) did you do before the trip.
  • Which route did you climb?
  • What time of the year did you climb, and how busy was the mountain during your climb?
  • How physically challenging did you find the climb? Did you successfully summit?
  • Having completed the climb, anything you wish you knew before-hand?

Wife & I have a 5 day/4 night trip to Las Vegas in three weeks! It will be a late birthday(me), early anniversary(22 yrs) & 20 year mark in the Navy celebration! We will be staying @ the MGM Grand & we are planning on seeing the Michael Jackson One show, shoot some guns @ Battlefield Vegas & spend some time on Freemont St! Also, this trip will serve as an early recon mission for a possible new home after I retire from the Navy in 2020.

I really want to see Michael Jackson One at some point. When I was in Vegas in September I saw The Beatles Love at The Mirage and it was amazing, and I'm sure the Michael Jackson version is great as well.

I'm heading to Vegas with some friends this Friday-Monday. I was hoping to go for the first weekend of NCAA tournament games but that didn't work for a couple of the people I'm going with but it will still be fun during the second weekend. Then from Monday-Saturday I'm heading to my parents' winter house in Arizona and going to Diamondbacks opening day. This will be the 8th straight year I go to Diamondbacks opening day.

Thanks for the heads up, and I will take a look. In the past, we have been joining day tours offered by Viator; and we are very happy with every one of those tours. I will take a look and see if they have anything in Iceland too.

Fortunately, there is a machine in South African airports that can photograph you and officials can tell if one has an elevated body temperature, an indicator of potential Ebola. I, thankfully, did not show as having an elevated temperature - still, I had to have my body photographed since my flight to South Africa had landed in West Africa, where Ebola had been.

Roughing it on safari in Botswana - my room!

The above pics are just a sample of my trip - over 4,000 photos, 27 days, 3 days visiting Zulu/British battlefields and visiting the set where Shaka Zulu was filmed, 3 days visiting Johannesburg (including where Gandhi was imprisoned for a time, 5 days visiting Cape Town, 3 days on my first safari in South Africa, 3 days at Victoria Falls, 3 days in Botswana and the rest of the 27 days was travel time (picture this - left Clarksville, TN @5:00 a.m. on a Friday and did not arrive in my hotel room in Cape Town until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday night). Fourteen flights altogether.. 😃
