Those are some pretty exotic locales. The Maldives look sublime. I've always dreamed about one day drinking some tropical concoction on the soft sands of French Polynesia. That's gotta be one long flight from London to the South Pacific.

Lol the flight was 26 hours (stopping at L.A and Tahiti). Worst and most embarrassing flight I've ever taken. I spent most of the trip from L.A in the loo chucking up !

This year I'm going to Nepal for 7 weeks.. I've decided to write my final exam there (only 2nd semester) - its a field study (I study social anthropology). . I will probably go to India and Beijing, China while I'm there (I have a good friend in Beijing).. It'll be beautiful!

That sounds exotic. I rode the Mt. Everest ride at Disneyworld. It even had a Yeti.

I have travelled all three of these countries. Nepal is famous, of course, for its remarkable trekking opportunities, and you should definitely see the Himalaya. I did the Everest Base Camp trek (although I skipped actually visiting EBC); from Kala Pattar, you have a tremendous view of the world's tallest peak, still more than three kilometres higher than your vantage point. Nepal is very poor, but you are making a positive impact on peoples' lives by travelling there.

India is a mammoth country, with a great deal of diversity, and is considered by many to be the most spiritual country in the world. As with Nepal, the poverty is appalling and almost overwhelming. Nevertheless, India is worth experiencing.

I was profoundly impressed by China; for better and for worse, it will play an increasingly important role in our world. As with India, the country is geographically enormous, with a civilization dating back thousands of years. The infrastructure is decades ahead of India's, although China, too, has a terrible disparity between rich and poor. More people should visit China.

All three countries offer an incredible travelling experience. Not everything is nice and pretty; a great deal made me sad. But that is as it should be. I hope you see as much as possible.

Yeah I'm really looking forward to the trip! I have visited Beijing before, and it was an overwhelming experience (keep in mind there are 4x as many people in that city as in my country!). Everything is going so fast there, but as you said, there a huge difference between rich and poor..! I've always had a big interest in Chinese culture and history (I would probably study Chinese had I not been accepted at anthropology).. Nepal and India are a first for me! I am most definitely gonna go trekking in the mountains! In fact, I am planning on writing my paper on one of these routes (the paper is about gathering information, and I am thinking of writing about the different people trekking there, and there motivation for doing so).. After the paper I still have 4-5 weeks where I'll be doing whatever I feel like! I've been traveling a lot in my life, but this time I'll be more on my own (7 of us are going, but we don't have similar plans on our trip) and I don't wan't to plan TOO much before going there.. I often enjoy the "little" things that come along, and often the best memories are created when you least expect it

Alright, well our plans are made, and we've decided on Orlando, FL in July for 7-10 days!!! about 20 or us are going, cant wait!!! Just ironing our hotel arrangements and will be booking my plane ticket this week

I just got my very first passport yesterday (I think processing took 13 days!) and I'm looking forward to using it next year to visit Ireland. I have not done any planning yet.

I was thinking I would also like to take a trip back East and do the Blue Ridge Parkway. I wouldn't mind starting out in Nashville and going through the Smokies and heading to NC to get on the parkway. I love California but there is a lot of beautiful country to see in the USA

Just got back from Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago.....spent most of the time checking out Universal Studios, watching Angel, and Dodger games.....then we rode some crazy roller coasters at Six Flags.

Went to Hollywood as well...down Sunset Blv but saw no celebs....either way I had a blast. Next time I go I'll definitely check out their beaches....Malibu, and Venice beach.

Next time i'd like to go to Miami, FL or maybe Brazil.....but that won't be for a year or 2.

I just bought tickets for Russia This will be this years adventure.. The tickets to Moscow were dirt cheap (200 USD round-trip) so me and two of my friends ended up booking them! We will be there for two weeks in June/July and plan on couchsurfing to meet some locals since none of us have ever been there before..
