Steedeel don't get too excited, the Future is still Streaming. You guys also have DRM, but top of the line Android Sony UHD TV's are okay. The Studios just want to protect their property, let's just hope they don't mess with all of us!

Pretty crappy future. Bond in stunning SD!

Digital just keeps shooting itself in the foot. Movies anywhere as long as you don’t want good quality. Oh and If your tv can handle built in apps because if it can’t, you have a very heavy paperweight.

Try not to stumbled in the dark into a chair worrying about this.

Studios and content providers can update the DRM on any of their streaming services at any time and force you to buy new equipment to play the movies you've already bought.

The same can't be done with discs. New discs can have new DRM but none of the discs that have already been released can ever be modified in any way. Nothing can ever prevent me from playing my existing discs on my existing equipment. I don't have to rely on hope that the studios don't mess everything up.

I have no reason to worry. I use good old discs.

If the solution is using a Microsoft product (edge) , then I think we need another solution.

Yes, it is a great show. Just finished the first 2 seasons. Still waiting for the 3rd to hit Peacock. I thought the second season was weaker than the first but that perception may be due to the fact that they made many more changes from the book compared to season 1. I know adapting the books out of order necessitated one important change, but I felt they could have stuck a little more closely to the book.

I have heard good things, but I haven't seen any of the seasons yet. Season 1 and 2 have been available here in Australia on Blu-ray for over a year:

And season 3 was released on Blu-ray here last week, individually, and in a trilogy set:

I just ordered the Blu-ray trilogy set, for about us$35... I'm looking forward to watching them.

Let me know what you think. I may order that trilogy set since the price is right.

Do you know where I can buy the trilogy set shipped to the US? Amazon.com.au won't ship to the US and it's not on JB Hi-Fi (which is where I generally buy Australian imports).

This show was the reason why I was inquiring about the region free mod kit for my Oppo awhile back, as I read the books and wanted to check this out. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet on either the kit or the show, but will anxiously await what you guys think of it.

It's listed on Amazon.com, it should go live for sale at some point, the other seasons were available on Amazon.com for international customers:

Mr. Mercedes is currently only available on Blu-ray in Australia, the first 2 seasons are region free, therefore a region free mod kit is not required, the third season is a new release and the region coding has yet to be confirmed.

I just thought I'd also add, Mr. Mercedes seasons 1, 2 & 3 on Blu-ray won't be available from JB HiFi.com.au, Sanity.com.au, or Ezydvd.com.au... Universal Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Australia's branding is on the covers and discs, however they just manufacture them for a company called Random Space Media, who have an exclusive deal with Universal Sony Australia to distribute these here (as well as Cobra Kai season one). To date, Random Space Media have not distributed any of their exclusive Blu-ray titles to JB HiFi, Sanity, or Ezydvd.

Mr. Mercedes is a great show. I've only seen the first 2 seasons -- checked out the DVDs from the library. Have not seen season 3, because it's not available anywhere outside of buying it and I don't want to go out of pocket for the DVDs.

The first two seasons are available for free via Hoopla, if you have it:

When our all-new Xbox family of consoles launch worldwide on November 10, you'll have more than just the entertainment apps you enjoy today on Xbox One. We're excited to share that the Apple TV app is coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on November 10.

The Apple TV app gives you access to thousands of shows and movies from one convenient location, allowing you to enjoy Apple TV+, Apple TV channels, brand-new and popular movies, and personalized entertainment recommendations.
The Apple TV app is already available on select Samsung, Sony, LG, and Vizio TVs, and it is set to launch on the PS5 and PS4 on November 12.

Just a example of how consoles are becoming more useful for streaming, media playback.

Hopefully the content won’t be downgraded to SD!
