plausible, and possible, but see earlier post about the lack of receipt of the email receipt supposedly sent by a representative (I hesitate to say "person" because it seemed like a bot program instead)

I'd add my twelve cents to the Croods hub-bub except that I 1) don't have a copy of the Croods to begin with and b) and offended that movie even exists

edit: The Croods has been restored to my MA account. MA implied Amazon issued a fix but I'm not so sure. Regardles, if you were missing it in MA for the last five days, check to see if it is back in your MA account.

I think you're in the minority, its 71% on RT and grossed half a billion. As a kids movie it was pretty good and there's a TV series too. That's why I want it back in my MA account, my kid watches on Google Play/YouTube.

Not back in mine. I'll send them an e-mail.

Edit: Got the same nonsense that it's showing as refunded from Amazon on MA's end, and then they gave me Amazon's contact info.

Really hope this fixes itself. Not a good sign for MA or digital distribution in general.

Edit 2: I sent them a screenshot from Amazon proving ownership. It won't help, but maybe if enough people complain, they might actually looking into this instead of trying to pass the buck back to Amazon.

Did you disconnect/reconnect Amazon and MA?

Pretty sad that the DC Universe roku app had a search function day one and 11 months later still none for MA.

I will not stop mentioning this.

why do you choose to use the MA app instead of Vudu, Fandango, Amazon, Google Play?

are there plans for MA to upgrade to UHD/ATMOS support at some point?
cause that would be excellent if they did.

My crystal ball is broken at the moment, but it doesn't appear to be a high priority for them...

The system appears to have been designed to explicitly send you to their retailer partners to buy movies and play them, but they offer some basic functionality to make life easy for the common user who isn't tech savvy. For instance, if I buy a Disney blu ray movie for my kids and redeem the code with the MA app, it is nice to be able to play it in the same app on a tablet and you can have different user profiles so kids can't watch Deadpool 2. I think you could do all of this without linking to any of the retailers, so the most basic use case is addressed.

On the flip side, if I am worried about UHD/Atmos, I'm already way beyond the typical user. Rather than develop that capability, MA would rather I stream it from one of their partners who has developed the capacity to stream that already (bandwidth is significantly higher than what would pass muster on an iPad screen) and then they don't really need to worry about different hardware. They would rather just manage the licenses entirely (I think), but common use cases are handled for the least-savvy customers and the more-savvy ones can use the more capable streaming platforms.

You do of course realize that reminding us here won't actually add it to the software, right?

Finally linked my Vudu content to MA and was disappointed that many did not port over. All these hoops to obtain uniformity kind of reminds me of the hi-def format wars of 2006-2008 and I don't like having to use multiple apps.

I don't, but I can watch special features for a lot of movies on the MA app that are not available on VUDU.

Plus it is a nicer interface.

If 4K playback ever was implemented I may watch on there more often.

I did watch Upgrade on there the other day because I was too lazy to get the blu-ray out and its easier to get straight to your collection than on VUDU

It's not uncommon for the porting to take some time, you might have hundreds (or thousands) of movies. If they don't eventually port then consider disconnecting waiting an hour or so then re-connecting.

Also remember, Lionsgate, MGM and Paramount are not part of MoviesAnywhere yet, so those titles will not port over.

I've tweeted at them before and they always come with something generic like "we are constantly looking at ways to improve our app!"

I just don't see how something so common sense was not included day one. The mobile app and website version have it.

Got an email from Sony giving away a free Movies Anywhere movie code if you sign up for a free rewards account. Too many movies for my lazy a$$ to list (30 in total) but it includes movies like Baby Driver, Trainspotting 2, The Dark Tower, Elle and the latest Smurfs, Underworld and Resident Evil movies. I chose a movie called "Keep Watching" as it was the only one I didn't have already that looked halfway interesting.

Any chance you could post the promo link in the mailout?
