I'm hoping the sales of Blood Rage and The Mutilator will show Arrow it will be worth their time and investment to bring more slashers to Blu Ray.

Bear in mind that there's some nasty, potentially speaker-blowing pops all over the killer's reveal at the end. It was so bad that I had to switch the audio over to the Italian track for that part, which doesn't have this issue; thankfully there are English subs. The scene in English is intercut with Italian+subs dialog anyway, so it didn't detract much to do this.

Also note that it isn't entirely in HD; there are some really grubby SD inserts here and there. Like, REALLY grubby: they couldn't even bother to crop out the gnarly green mattes and fill in straight black mattes.

Despite its problems, it's a pretty good Blu-ray. Same could be said for just about every Argento film on Blu-ray to date.

If Arrow's in-house restoration is Opera, I'll squeal. I quite like the Japanese Blu-ray, but there's much room for improvement. I really hope they include the Italian track with subs, the international dub, and the US dub where they changed the voice of the inspector. Throw in a bevy of extras and I'll cream my jeans for weeks.

Maybe they'll troll all of us and release Giallo or Phantom of the Opera or Sleepless or something Trauma or Mother of Tears I might be persuaded to buy. Opera would obviously be the best-case scenario and I'll hope for that, but there are several Argento movies out there that haven't seen UK or US bluray and very few of them are very good

It looks like Blue Underground's DVD of Opera recently went OOP, and Arrow still seems to have UK rights to the film, so I'm guessing that'll be the Argento title, assuming there's only one.

I think Blue Underground's Fulci releases are all still in print, but Severin recently lost the US rights to three Fulci films: Perversion Story, The Eroticist and The Psychic (aka Seven Notes in Black). I'm guessing we'll be seeing at least one of those three films from Arrow.

It looks like Blue Underground's Short Night of Glass Dolls recently went OOP, too. There's an upcoming Blu-Ray coming to Germany from Camera Obscura, and I wouldn't be surprised if Arrow has licensed that restoration for UK / US distribution.

Both Opera and Short Night of the Glass Dolls show up for me on Blue Underground's website (http://blue-underground.com/product.php?product=134 and http://blue-underground.com/product.php?product=144). Amazon seems to have them in stock. Am I looking in the wrong places?

BU also has that three pack with Short Night of the Glass Dolls included in it which looks in-print to me.

From what has been described in the Camera Obscura thread, the materials for Short Night are quite compromised and the transfer might not be something Arrow would want to license. I have it preordered anyway since I love the movie and that label has a track record of making the best they possibly can with what they get.

I hope they release "The Psychic," since the DVD is extremely expensive and the bluray release in Germany was apparently very bad. I saw it for the first time about a month ago and would like to own a legit copy of it :P Perversion Story is good too (not quite as good) and Don't Torture a Duckling would be the best, but seems less likely since it's in-print on DVD.

Look at the horror catalog lists:

Opera: http://blue-underground.com/category...=4&per_page=20

Short Night of the Glass Dolls: http://blue-underground.com/category...=5&per_page=20

Both titles have the following image attached:

I would actually be pleased to see The Phantom of the Opera on Blu-ray. It's the only Argento theatrical film besides The Five Days which isn't on Blu-ray anywhere in the world.

And yeah, Sleepless is good, IMO. It's very much style over substance, but the Argento setpieces are phenomenal. The Austrian Blu-ray is really nice.

Can you only order UK editions on the Arrow site? I want to get that limited slipcover for Blood Beach but I want the US edition, I'm wondering if it doesn't matter which you order (assuming both are sold on the site), you'll get it as long as you're in that window of initial orders.

It'll be the UK editions, however, outside of ratings logos on the packaging and the disc art, the disc contents will be identical.

Yeah that seemed the more likely scenario. Thanks for answering.

Do you mean Blood Rage?

They stated one place on Facebook a while back that the Slipcover would also be included on the first 1000 of the US edition...or at least those ordered from Amazon US:

CO's having another crack at the transfer, hopefully with better or at least more natural results.

Hope it's Opera. That's the only Argento besides Suspiria that I really like.

I hope it's Don't Torture A Duckling. Probably the real reason BU hasn't released it is because Arrow has it. Wasn't Synapse supposed to be releasing Opera?
