NEW UK/US TITLE: The Suspicious Death of a Minor (Dual Format Blu-ray & DVD)

Combines conventional giallo trappings with elements of the then flourishing ‘poliziotteschi’ crime thrillers.

Our US pre-order links for The Suspicious Death of a Minor should be live soon!
Release Dates: 11/12 September

In the wake of the success of Dario Argento’s ground-breaking giallo The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, numerous other directors stepped forward to try their hand at these lurid murder-mysteries. At the forefront was Sergio Martino (The Strange Vice of Mrs Wardh, Torso), whose sensual 70s thrillers starring Edwige Fenech and George Hilton are widely celebrated as some of the best the genre has to offer.
The final of Martino’s six gialli, The Suspicious Death of a Minor combines conventional giallo trappings with elements of the then flourishing ‘poliziotteschi’ crime thrillers. Claudio Cassinelli (What Have They Done to Your Daughters?) stars as undercover cop Paolo Germi, on the trail of a Milanese criminal outfit following the brutal murder of an underage prostitute. But a killer-for-hire is also on the prowl, bumping off witnesses before they have a chance to talk…

Also starring Mel Ferrer (Nightmare City), Barbara Magnolfi (Suspiria) and Jenny Tamburi (The Psychic), and featuring a script by veteran giallo writer Ernesto Gastaldi (All the Colours of the Dark, Death Walks at Midnight), this unique and lesser-known entry in Martino’s filmography serves as an essential link between two different movements in Italian popular cinema.

So pumped for a 4k restoration of A Fish Called Wanda! The existing transfer is very dated

OK, solid month, have to admit. A giallo/crime thriller, an 80's Stephen King horror adaptation and a very funny and entertaining British comedy. Picking up all 3. Nice to see more MGM 4K restorations done by Arrow.

Definitely a lesser month to be honest.

Only titles i'm really for are the two UK only releases.

all about the Martino release, i'll consume anything he's done that i can get my mitts on.

more than happy about A Fish Called Wanda, i am excited to see it again.

Children of the Corn is not my favorite horror movie by a long margin, but it'll be good to have a definitive edition (or as close to it as possible)

idk anything about the Ghoul.

The cover for Children of the Corn is cool, but am disappointed it won't include the TV cut with the deleted scenes. I own the 88 Films boxset and am happy with that, so will probably pass on the Arrow Blu ray.

Funny how opinions differ. People saying not much here but A Fish Called Wanda is probably the biggest release Arrow has ever done for my tastes.

Nevermind A Fish Called Wanda... Arrow are releasing Day of the Jackal! I already have the region free Aussie release but its barebones, I might get that Arrow release for any features it might have (I'm not normally a features guy, but DOTJ is one of my all time favourite films).

Definitely getting that as well, but I didn't want to make a big deal about it in this thread because it's UK only. Most people here can't get it.

I agree, this and Ronin will be my very first Arrow USA purchases.

I wonder who has the US distribution rights tied up for Day of the Jackal. I know it's technically Universal, but hopefully Shout or Criterion are preparing something on the US front. If not, it'd be a shame if Universal simply sits on this or just churns out some half-assed retailer exclusive blu-ray, kinda like what happened with The 'Burbs.

Too bad they got that one while Shameless got the famous ones and is treating them with the care you'd expect from them. :/

Well that half-assed retailer exclusive is basically what we got from Australia, right? Day of the Jackal is a Criterion worthy title so if a US distributor picks it up, hopefully it's them.
