Default I Am Alive: The forgotten Exclusive?

http://www.gamepro.com/article/news/...-jade-raymond/

I have to admit, I do not remember hearing about this game before (supposedly an exclusive PS3 according to the article, not sure if it is still the case).

Quote:
I Am Alive deets: first-person and no Jade Raymond
By Dave Rudden January 07, 2009

One of the most compelling titles coming out of E3 was I Am Alive, a PS3-exclusive title that takes place in an earthquake-ravaged Chicago. The teaser featured a character trying to survive in a world affected by drought and disaster, but little in the way of gameplay details. 1UP is reporting that British video game magazine GamesTM has the first official details to emerge from the game's cloud of mystery. Chief among them? the title will be played in a first-person perspective and will not be worked on by Ubisoft wonder woman Jade Raymond.

It took every fiber of my being to not include a Jade pic.
The man holding the reigns of I Am Alive is Alexis Goddard, a comparatively unknown name as far as producers go. The game seems like it will be more about escaping and surviving than hunting and killing, with rational items like water serving as the most important, rather than guns. Perhaps the most surprising reveal was that the game will be played in first person, contrary to the trailer that showed all of the characters (we think). Goddard justified the decision, saying, “We wanted the player to really feel the power of Mother Nature, to feel the danger coming from the collapsing towers and devastating rifts, feel the chaos happening all around him. There's nothing like a first-person view to create that kind of emotion”. You can read more about the story on 1UP, or if you happen to be reading this in the UK, you can take a lorry to the local book shoppe and pay a few pounds for the full story.

I was wondering what the big deal was with Jade Raymond:

Ok, I understand better

How it turned out is irrelevant. It clearly proves that Ubisoft is not exclusively(heh) multiplatform.

Hm, never would have thought it would be exclusive. Hopefully it's good, the trailer piqued my interest when it was shown.

The article claims exclusivity, hopefully that's not simply "timed" exclusivity. I thought the idea of Mirrors Edge was odd but interesting, with less emphasis on fighting...this sounds like it could be good if done right (which I suppose goes without saying).

The article claims wrong. Announced at E3, it was slated for PC, Xbox 360 along with the PS3.

No, it wasn't. At E3 they announced the game but made no specification of platform. It was immediately pegged as PS3/360/PC by gaming sites, but that was speculation.

hmm, just checked to see whether or not I was right, and I guess I was wrong. I could have sworn they specified those platforms. Nevertheless, if thats the case, the notion that this is a PS3 exclusive is still absurd as far as I'm concerned.

1Ups recent preview on it had it down as 360 and PS3. Whether that's true or not is unsure, but seeing as they got that from a recent UK article and it's the most recent news, I'd tend to believe it.

Why? Because the pro-MS media has convinced people that 3rd party exclusives are impossible, except when they are 360?

I'd call it unlikely, but absurd is going too far.

No, because its a big project with high production values. Ubisoft would obviously like to see a similar reception to that of Assassin's Creed.

Don't get me wrong buddy, I'd love this to be an exclusive, I but just know it won't be. Have Ubisoft given either 360 or PS3 an exclusive developed in-house yet?
