IMO the Monitor series is the best speaker for the price, i have been using Paradigm speakers for over 15 years and still have not heard a speaker that i like the sound of better.

I agree! I have been buying Paradigm for years as well. I bought a pair of the first Studio 20s and still use them in a strictly 2 channel music setup with a vintage Luxman amp and the sound is still gorgeous to me after all these years! I also have a complete Monitor theater system that I would put up against anything close to or double the price. I am thinking of upgrading soon-to some of the new Studio V5s. My son has Monitors and I have turned on at least 2 other people to the line. I can't say enough good things about them!

I replaced my old Infinity Kappa 7.1 s with monitor 7,s and cc-290 center with ADP-190 rears. A lot smaller mains then the Kappas and they use a lot less power.
The center is bigger then the Kappa and I can hear the dialogs better. Using a Infinity 250w 10" sub . Over all for home theater I like them better. Music I have not had the time yet to judge. But the Kappas cost more money even 15 or 20 years ago so I would say the Paradigms monitors are nice for the dollar. I bet there high end series are real nice.

I am a big fan...er homer...for Paradigm.
I first heard them at a friend's home and was blown away by the sound.
I have since bought a few and especially love the Monitor line as it seems to be a "blue collar" sort of line providing excellant sound, design and looks for a reasonable price.
My kids also love Paradigm especially since dad gives his kids his speakers when he upgrades to newer/different speakers lol.

The way i look at is if your on a budget , buying Paradigm gives you your moneys worth and more.

Ive been a Paradigm fan since the early 80's and had many Paradigm speakers go my way.

They have never let me down and i keep them in high regard.

I never have a problem recommending Paradigm to a newcomer to this forum looking to improve there sound system

I agree I love my Paradigm speakers, I came over from Infitiy Beta 50's and the matching setup. I feel the sound of the Paradigms are far superior, I just recently upgraded to the Pioneer receiver and I found a whole new love for my speakers. It was as if I upgraded them also. I love them.

I can't really say much about the Studio 20's but The Monitor 7's sound very nice.

The Studio 20s would probably be the better upgrade since many owners claim the Studios sound much nicer than the Monitor Series. I would check them both out if your dealer has them both in store. I didn't have a choice since my dealer doesn't keep Studios in store - only available for special order.

Are you changing your center channel as well? I've heard the IQ7's that go with your center and they are a bit cheaper than the Paradigms and sound real good too. I would stick to those unless you're gonna eventually switch out that center. The CC-290 and CC-390 are awesome speakers.

I've had my Paradigms for almost 2 months now and am VERY happy with them. I love them for movies and music - For 2ch Music the Monitor 11's just fill up the whole room and really puts you in the middle of it all. The CC-390 is perfect for movies - matched up with with the Monitor 11's it just seems like my whole front wall is the movie. The ADP-390's also make the movies feel so real - with my older Klipsch surrounds for rears I could hear the sound right from them but these ADP's just mix in so well that I can't tell where the sound is really coming from - it just blends in nicely with everything!!

So like others have mentioned already - With the Monitor Series Speakers you really get a lot more than what you pay for. There are a lot of different speakers that probably sound a whole lot better but they are gonna cost you a lot more too so I agree with Twitch9 - To me these were the best speakers for the price comparing to all other speakers that I've heard in the same price range. That's just me though - others may feel different and have probably heard a lot more speakers than I've been able to listen to.

I am a Paradigm fan myself. I bought a set of floor model Atom v.2's in 2000. I still have them, and they are still nice little speakers. I just bought my first house, and I'm in the process of trying to decide on an upgrade for my basement HT. I am kind of leaning toward building around the Montior 7's, but the Studio line is so tempting.

So what do you think, am I better off just sticking with the KEF's as a package and going with the Q7 or Q5's or should I add the Studio 20's and the studio cc-390 and leave my KEF 2005.2 for the surrounds for now? thank you in advance, hope I was clear in my wording...

The surrounds should be fine for now unless you want all your speakers the same - at least your front three will match which is most important. I have Polk and Paradigm speakers for my surrounds.

Because you already have the KEF center I would actually listen to the IQ7 or IQ5 since you only heard they weren't that great. You might like them but whoever told you that might have different taste. And if you can - I would go check out the Paradigms to see if it's worth the extra $$. The matching center for the Studio 20's would actually be a CC-590 or CC-690 which will cost more then the CC-390 you're talking about. I've never heard the Studios but I own the CC-390 center and am very happy with it. It's really up to you if you think it's worth the extra $$.

I purchased all my Paradigms used. The Studio front end and CC are V-1 the ADPs are V-2 and my Atoms are V-5. I previously enjoyed a great set of Mission 700s while using a 5.1 system added a pair of Fluance (not Nuance) when I first moved to 7.1 was a good system for a couple of years. Then I purchased an Energy sub as I believed I was going to go with an Energy system. I was looking through a local sales forum when I found the Paradigms - picked up the Studio 60 and was so impressed that I went back the following week to pick up the matching Studio CC, I really couldn't afford it at the time but thought better grab it before he sold it off to someone else. The rest just came with time and Canuck Audio. My recent addition of a Rotel amp to drive the 60s just provided clarity and cleanliness to the sound. The Marantz 80w drives the remainder of the system.
I am so impressed with the system now I doubt that I will ever change the speakers. I know there are better out there and short of adding a 2nd sub I doubt there will be any changes in the near future.

Of course there's alway upgradeitis.....

Have had mine for a few years and kinda take them for granted...until the other day. Found a pair of vintage Pioneer cs-88( I think) in my basement and was gonna sell them on craigslist I unhooked 1 of my front speakers and connected the Pioneer to make sure they worked. They worked but sounded terrible compared to the paradigem that was still connected.

Interesting the sound that was missing from the pioneer.
