Damn I'm so unlucky with slipcovers!

Got my copy of The Nightmare Before Christmas(BD/DVD combo) and no slipcover. In a way I knew this was coming but was hoping still as it came directly from Amazon.co.uk.

Toy Story 3 came with a slip though.

You were never going to get a slipcover with this. If you want slipcovers with your Disneys, Ebay is your best bet. Nowhere you order them from online will have them (with the exception of Toy Story 3 and, possibly, Bambi).

To the guy that got Road To Perdition, congratulations. That slipcover is my favourite one (that I own). Stunning.

Also, Amazon pulled through! The Descent arrived today, WITH SLIP! Chuffed.

Actually Amazon confirmed me NBC would come with a slip(it's the combo pack). I got Road To Perdition too from Amazon earlier.

I thought The Box did as well, in fact I though I bought one the other day with one. I went to get my camera feeling smug and SURPRISE! no slip....

I did get my The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo today though I was worried as all the ones I've seen have the slip outside the shrinkwrap and I thought it might have gone walkabout. Luckily it didn't. I also had The Clone Wars in another package which I haven't opened yet (I'll leave my sister open it) I think it won't have a slip but you never now with a 3rd party seller. It should be new and sealed, it was abargain at 4.12 plus P&P. Fingers crossed....

They could have misintepreted your request as the single-disc NBC to be honest. It's a silly mistake for them to make, but certainly possible. Best just to message them back, and as there is proof of this 'guarantee' from them, they may just be kind enough to send out a slip by itself. Who knows, worth a shot though.

As for my luck today, it's been rotten to say the least. I was in town (which I only do maybe once a week), and I popped into HMV and decided to buy Road to Perdition and also How The West Was Won after seeing how beautifully restored and enhanced it was in the review. Both had a lovely slip, and were in the 2 for £20 so it was perfect really. Anyway, I'm waiting in the queue for about 5 minutes, and I reach the front, but just before being called up to the till I realise I've left my bank card at home (like 1 hour away - FACEPALM). Obviously I tried to play it cool like I just decided against the purchases, but I still looked like a complete knob walking back past the queue to put the Blu-rays back on the shelf.

Genuinely a little disappointed though as I doubt I'll be back in town for a while unless I just decide to head up there on a whim with the sole purpose of going to HMV. It's an hour on the bus, but only £3 return since I'm a uni student. So essentially a 2 hour+ trip just for the two Blu-rays, which is a little steep.

What I noticed though - and I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this too with regards to How The West Was Won (HTWWW); is that there are 2 different slips in the UK. My local HMV had 4 of the above title, all with slips (and essentially the exact same artwork), however 3 of the slips had a grainy effect on the Blu-ray banner at the very top of the slip - whereas 1 of the slips didn't have the grain effect on the Blu-ray banner and instead had a bright bold solid blue, and this particular solid blue slip also had a sticker on it which the others did not - the sticker simply was a shiny circular Warner Bros sticker with the word "List" underneath the WB logo. This is one of the reasons I'm a little disappointed with not having my bank card, because I was totally unaware of the 2 different slips, even if the difference is incredibly subtle. I want the version with the bright solid blue banner (it just looks better) and with the shiny WB sticker on too. Thinking about it, maybe I should have hidden in somewhere in the store where no one looks but I just hope it's safe amongst the other 3 HTWWW Blu-rays - and remains undamaged if I do decide to buy it.

Anyone else noticed this too?

You are a student but didnt have £20 beer money on you? Does not compute...

Bad luck, hopefully the slip you wanted will still be there by the time you go back. I've almost bought HtWWW a few times, I've never seen it sans slip so hopefully by the time I get around to it my copy will have one.

Why didn't you ask them to keep 'em for you?

My sister opened my Star Wars The Clone Wars and guess what?

I don't know if anyone is interested but I emailed the company and asked if they had more, I paid 4.12 for mine plus P&P. With my other recent additions (Salvation is a few weeks old from Amazon) all were £5 each from Tesco, with The Girl.... from Amazon at the same price.

Because I've no idea when I'm next going up to be honest, probably next week at the earliest unless I decide to haul my behind out for a day trip for 2 Blu-rays which is quite unlikely. But we'll see.

As I say, there was about 10 Road to Perdition's with slips, no worry of shortage there, just this 1 particular unique HtWWW slip.

PS: I'm really no Star Wars or Sci-Fi fan at all, but one can always appreciate such lovely packaging - so a job well done!

Love the pickup. I'm after Burlesque myself, so I'm gonna have to put that on my priority list (did you just import from Amazon?) and I love the Vampire Diaries Season 1 Region A slip, nice and shiny, I only have the Region B one, so it's just plain. Damn I don't want to double dip, but....... now I just sound like a crazy person. I won't double dip! Yet...

Just bought The Descent from Amazon UK, I'm praying it will come with a slip, pleeeaassseeee!! I should find out Saturday. Fingers crossed.

Also got Let Me In with a slip, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (US re-release, with slip). And "Beetlejuice" with a slip from America too, £25 is alright for one of the rarest Blu-ray slipcovers right?

Yes, it is. The actual cover just has the BD3D+2D+DC banner at the top.

Yeap all US sets from Amazon.com
Well I had already bought a slip for Vampire Diaries thinking that after all this time there wouldn't be any left. So now I have two. If you want my extra one, let me know in a PM.

Aaaaahhhhh!! That's amazing news! My paranoid thoughts have sucked right out of me. I mean I'm about 10% worried it won't come with one, because anything could happen, but I'll be looking forward to Saturday very much Thank you for informing us, really appreciate it.
