Plus Warner outright owns HELL to boot, I can't imagine why they wouldn't. Like some others have said, the RATED cut on previous versions had the wrong run time, so I think that is what it is...they probably listed the wrong running time.

I know I've seen the R version once, in theaters, and have maybe watched Hell on video and/or DVD 3-4 times. Besides the tent scene, I would be hard pressed to be able to tell the difference. Every time I watch HELL it gets worse for me, so I try to keep that and X to a minimum.

And now I'm suddenly getting that bad Hell score stuck in my head.

I actually like the JGTH score.

My cheesy favorite is the disco theme in PART III. How can you not want to dance to that???

I remember I had an old CD full of scary themes from movies, and when I first heard that theme I thought "This isn't scary one bit".

You can definitely groove to it though, which is good.

I don't want to read through this entire behemoth of a thread.

So I just want a quick opinion from a few of you.

I already own all the F13 movies on DVD. I have the From Crystal Lake to Manhattan box set, All the deluxe editions from Paramount, His Name was Jason documentary from Anchor Bay, New Line's Freddy vs. Jason, Jason X and Jason goes to Hell.

I also own F13 2009 on BD.

So I'm guessing movie-wise, I pretty much have everything.

With the exception of having the movies in Hi-Def, content-wise is there anything in this set that I don't already have? I could live with what I have if everything in this set is pretty much the same. With the exception of the 2009 update, I'm fine with sticking with them in Standard Def if there is no really compelling reason for me to triple dip and spend another $90+

If I had all that I probably wouldn't upgrade reason being is you know this will not be the last box set. Give it 5 years and there will be another bluray box set. there are like 3 different box sets for the DVDs so you know its bound to happen with bluray also.

It reminds me of the theme from Psycho.

No, there isn't. I would be with you and pass on this thing if I didn't sell off both sets of my DVD Friday collections last fall.

The only reason I could think of is if they end up using ALL the extras from both the Box Set AND the Deluxe Versions. Cause then you'd have all the films and all the extras in one place. Probably save shelf room. But right now it's an IF...we are still waiting on.

I have another question. Is this cardboard disc holder thing that people are having fits over the same as the one the DIE HARD set was in??? Cause if so, what was the problem with it? My discs all worked, and the case is very thin to not hog up a lot of room.

Actually there was just ONE box set on DVD, and seeing how Warner loses the rights to the Paramount collection, if nothing changes, in 2 more years, this could be the only way to get them all on one set for a good while.

It's the same as the Friday The 13th Deluxe Edition Box Set disc holder only with different artwork.

According to Amazon there is Crystal Lake To Manhattan, Friday the 13th the Ultimate collection with mask which I use to own and Friday the 13th (The Collection) So I count 3 box sets that are all out of print at this time.
Not that it matters I was just trying to make the point that they keep re releasing it and Its bound to happen on blue no matter who owns the rights in my opinion.

Technically thats true but The Ultimate collection is just a re-package of the deluxe edition dvds along with a Jason mask and the collection is the same set but without the mask.

You know that will happen. I pre-ordered just a bit ago but I know thats what will happen, if they can make more many from the fans they will or they would have come out with this set years ago so we did not have to already double dip.

Dude, they'll be releasing these movies until the end of time. The first one came out in 80. I don't see it stopping any time soon.

I think I remember that, with the mask anyways. Totally forgot about it. I actually did NOT buy that version.

I have to learn to draw a line in the sand someday.

I have owned them all on VHS. Then bought them ALL on DVD when they came out as singles. Then the CLTM box set. Then I bought all the Special Edition Paramount ones.

If anything, history proves Warner doesn't double dip their Friday films!!! I've only had one copy of Hell, VS and X on DVD.

Hey, at least FRIDAY isn't being as milked over as Halloween or Evil Dead. I swear they put out new editions to those films every year!!!

Agreed, for me every new release of these movies has been worth it so far and as long as this set offers great picture quality it will be no exception.

Yes, and it seems like a release of Blade Runner and Scarface comes out all the time.

Yeah, they keep releasing Blade Runner with different cuts, yet my 90s little fav comedy, ANGUS, has never seen the light of day in a retail store.

You'd think being the final film for George C. Scott or one of the first for 'Dawson,' it would get a tiny release!

I guess that's why I'm thankful Warner is at least putting something FRIDAY out. They could have just ignored the series, especially with their awful box offices woes this year(Man Of Steel not included).

Is it September 13th yet?
