It is JGTH that was so radically altered to get its R, and since the excessive gore was really JGTH's only redeeming quality, its R cut is truly worthless.

Sadly, we're almost certainly getting the same disappointing disc of the uncut first film but only the worthless R cut of JGTH.
I'de actually be very interested in seeing an uncut JGTH. I haven't seen the uncut version yet. Are the scenes actually THAT different? Maybe I'll watch it today because I didn't know that, thanks for letting me know!

Killer Cut was around for years before their new "Rules"

WB seem to go back and forth with unrated cuts. Until recently, they never had a problem with releasing unrated versions of New Line films. This new direction they're going in is completely heinous. I'm totally serious when I say this: the cut version of JGTH is 100% worthless, and it's a waste of a disc in the set.

Indeed part VI Jason lives was the first one to go Stereo and they went for the cheap option and mixed them in Ultra stereo. Jason Goes To Hell was the first to be mixed in Dolby.

On the bottom of the page it has all of the ratings. Though it's tough to make out for JGTH specifically, it does indicate an R rating for part 1.

This artwork features the looks of Jason Voorhees from ALL 12 MOVIES. The custom title and other graphics were added by me. If you have seen the new Friday the 13th 10 disc Blu-ray collection promo photos (comes out 9/13/13) you will notice that they are using a sleeve disc holder design. Those kind of cases are known to scratch your discs and are hard to get the discs out of as well. I also wasn't a fan of what they did with the cover art so I decided to make a custom sleeve to fit the 10 disc Blu-ray case. The Paramount logo on the side was intentional. Looks better and pays homage to the studio that started it all. JASON LIVES!

That's awesome. It would be even more awesome if he put Pamela Voorhees in the middle or somewhere in the artwork.

Wow. You or the artist should sell this art to others who'd like to use it.

The infamous tent scene is VERY different. Maybe one of the hottest sex scenes ever, followed by a crazy awesome death scene.

I know there are other differences, but having seen both, the tent scene is mad better in the unrated cut.

There's another scene involing the demon and Erin Gray's crotch that's a little different.

Thats because its from the same artist who does the covers for Scream Factory. His name is Nathan Thomas Milliner. He has a very recognizable style. I knew that was his artwork before even reading the description.

Scream Factory needs the rights to this franchise, and then they need to use that cover art for a set with as much unrated content as possible.

shame on WB for screwing the fans of this series once again. all this time i thought they would give us better treatment than paramount, but as we get more of the details it's obvious this is another intermediate release. i'll obviously buy the series a few more times in my lifetime. lame.

In the back of my mind I thought it'd be the same person behind some of those, but yeah. Top notch stuff right there.
