While not anime and slightly OT. Does anyone remember this show? I feel like I caught an episode growing up but when it aired they only did 3 before it was cancelled.

That campaign seems very detached from reality. $50 for a 30-minute pilot from a decade ago. The $100,000 base goal seems to have no real justification for being that high. I know very little about 3D, but they claimed to have finished a stereoscopic version of the pilot in 2010.

This is a week old now, but I haven't seen it posted here. Robert give an update on the new Kickstarter:



Now this is just uneducated, wild guessing, but this makes me think this is a newly licensed title instead of a re-release of one of their catalog titles. You'd think there would be less hoops to jump through for a title they currently have, like Vampire Princess Miyu, but what do I know?

I'm inclined to agree with you, but I suppose it's possible that the rights holder for one of their catalog titles has changed, making it harder then expected.

I wish the legend of calamity Jane kickstarter was more known so the stretch goals were reached were lucky we’re getting the motion comic because they didn’t reach that goal. We’re not getting video game or the new episode that’s really disappointing.

HIDARI: Stop-Motion Samurai Film

Hello! Thank you for your interest in our project "HIDARI" ! My name is Masashi Kawamura, and I am the lead director of this film.

I normally work as a creative director for my own company Whatever Co, creating things like music videos and TVCs. However, as a kid who was raised watching films by Ray Harryhausen, Kihachiro Kawamoto, and Phil Tippett, I always dreamt about one day creating a long length stop-motion animation film. And this idea of a "stop-motion samurai film" was something I've been cooking up for years.

This film will tell an action-packed story of “Jingoro Hidari,” a legendary sculptor in the Edo period of Japan, using wooden puppets. We were able to gather a world-class stop-motion animator team who believed in this idea, and created a 5-minute pilot film which you can check out above. We're really excited about how this pilot film is looking, and would love to find a way to receive enough funding and support to make it into a feature length film. I hope you feel the same way after watching this video! You can also check out the "behind the scenes" video below, to learn more on how we actually created this film.

Through this crowdfunding project, we hope to create a community of fans to join us on this long journey, to turn the world of HIDARI into a feature length film.

Europe (less UK , Ukraine, Russia) + Africa + Middle East has started shipping today. Other territories are almost in place but little ore time needed for paperwork, shipping prepayments to fulfilment cie, finding an opening in the fulfilment cies schedules. I should make a full update tomorrow.

A comment on the Dirty Pair TV kickstarter accuses the Oban blurays of "terrible macroblocking and banding issues."

I'm not seeing this on the Oban campaign and haven't searched elsewhere. Disappointing if true.

I watched the first two discs and it really does have a lot of color banding. While it's better than any release before, I'm disappointed by the visual problems. I don't regret my purchase, but the picture quality could've been a lot better.

My Oban Racers set shipped and should be here Tuesday it looks like. Reading the Twitter thread though, sounds like I'm going to be pretty disappointed. It seems like they just used like an automatic encoding and didn't tweak anything at all. If I read correctly, it also has dubtitles?

Not saying dubtitles aren’t an issue, but what language should they be based on? This is me actually asking, not some sort of loaded question. The show was written for English first, then translated to French, and every other dub (Japanese included) is based on the French script.
