Seriously, if there's a large dent... Maybe... But no, people will be amazed at the hyped chainsaw man dub series and new people will subscribe. I think the Kyle thing is just Crunchyroll sending a big message to them.

yup recasts in anime really aren't that uncommon. Pokemon, Dragon Ball, One Piece, evangellion, sailor moon, inuyasha, case closed, Jojos bizzare adventure card captor sakura etc. alot of the biggest anime have actually had voice actor replacements. Its a bummer when it happens but its not even out of the ordinary.

Recasts are not uncommon but they are usually for better/more understandable reasons.

They recast Rohan in the OVAs since he was Vic in the series. |

They didn't replace him to save money, they kicked him to the curb because he's a creep. There's a reason he doesn't have a career anymore.

I stopped watching Pokemon when it got recast. Even as a kid I did not like the new voice actors. I think Sarah Natochenny has made the role her own over the years and sounds very good now, but she'll never be Veronica Taylor. I'll forever associate the character of Ash with Veronica's voice and nothing can change that. I'm sure the current generation can say the same thing about Sarah because that's who they grew up with.

lol I thought it looked weird with the quote there but the first part was not meant to be connected to the second. I just didn't want to make two posts back to back. Vic can keep getting kicked out of parking lots for all I care.

I loved Pokemon dubs as a kid but I started to get more annoyed learning how much was cut/toned down in the English versions as I got older. I would love if there was a legal way to watch the show subbed but pirating weekly when everything else is readily available on a streaming service is too much of a hassle.

Crunchyroll Updates Statement on Advertising VOD Policy
"Crunchyroll provided an updated statement to ANN this week, regarding its advertising video-on-demand (AVOD) policy: Crunchyroll continues to make more than 1,000 hours of anime available for free through our advertiser-supported tier. Select episodes of our most popular anime, prior to the current season, are still available to watch for free with ads. Similarly, we do make new content available for free with ads via our Seasonal Samplers, launched at the beginning of each anime season. AVOD content will rotate and refresh regularly, sometimes returning for stunts, special promotions and commemorative occasions. ANN had reached out to Crunchyroll after discovering that several titles - including El-Hazard, Hero Bank, Kiratto Pri☆Chan, and Fairy Musketeers - which had used to be available for free users until August 31, had then changed to content for premium users only as of September 1." https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/new...policy/.190074 |

There is High Guardian Spice but that’s not an Anime.
For Anime there’s the Crunchyroll/Adult Swim Originals like Fena Pirate Princess, Blade Runner Black Lotus and Shenmue The Animation but those are basically Crunchyroll Original for the Subbed version and Adult Swim Original for the Dub. |

The results of Japan handling everything themselves have not been great. This is an actual slide from an actual convention. Source
Bandai Visual USA didn't last long. You can almost write an entire book of everything that's gone wrong when Japanese companies tried to release things here themselves. One of the only success stories has been Aniplex USA, and even then there's problems (Ex: Translations so bad you don't even need to know Japanese to figure something is wrong). Oh, remember Daisuki, a streaming service handled entirely by Japanese companies, I wonder what ever happened with that... https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/new...ctober/.119596 |
