Crunchyroll Increases Monthly Price in Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, More Territories

Crunchyroll revealed that it will increase its monthly subscription price on October 31 in several territories, across a mix of web and mobile, including: Chile, Canada, Austria, Finland, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Netherlands, Faroe Islands, Greenland

Some Funimation prices will also change across a mix of web and mobile in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Chile. Also, some Funimation prices will decrease in Brazil, Peru and Colombia.

Never posted, but that's a shame. I have a lot of fond memories posting on FUNimation's message board between 2009-2013-ish (particularly the original incarnation before it got rebooted around 2011), but it looks like that's gone too. That was a massive community at one point, but still small enough where it felt almost familial.

I’m pretty sure Bayonetta 1-2 were also union. They did get actors like Grey DeLisle and Dave Fennoy after all. FUNimation and New Generation Pictures even had to dub the Bloody Fate anime movie with SAG contracts to get everyone back. Fennoy does an AMA every Wednesday, and he once said he almost never does anime because it’s usually non-union (implying he only works union).

Something a friend brought up, residuals may have been the main thing that broke negotiations down. I mean, think about Hollywood accounting (Also recommended: Link 1, Link 2), residuals are something many companies don't want.

Almost certainly. No company wants to be the one that sets the precedent for it, since it'd set the baseline going forward for other VAs to request the same.

1) don't believe everything you hear.
2) there are two sides to every story; the truth is often somewhere in-between.
3) no one needs attempted dialogue on Twitter. Those aren't people; they are angry little eggs. Many of which are disingenuous bad actors, trolls, contrarians, clowns, or edgelords. It's not healthy to engage with it nor become invested in it.

Just like the last time the VAs had a big blow up over video game payouts, I'm wondering what gaming would be like if the artists, animators, and programmers all wanted $3,000 per session.
