Honestly, while the sub vs. dub debate had some merit in the past, the vast majority of modern dubs are solid enough to let people watch shows whichever way they prefer. I'll usually watch a show subbed at least once prior to watching any dub (if I decide to do so), but that just comes down to personal preference.

Well I didn't say anything about about subs being better than dubs - I just said I'm glad I don't have to deal with any dub debates/discussions other than having to skip over them.

my new personal favorite is: "Just get a region-free player (and it solves all your problems)!

That'll make the region lockout on your discs go away forever. Right!?! I picture people sitting in their 1-room studio weeb fortress watching anime with their butts in the same divot every time.

Don't do multiple rooms or travel. We're going to bury ourselves with that one single 1080p player. The Highlander!

I don’t refuse to watch sub-only titles (some of my favorites like Kimagure Orange Road, Dear Brother, and most of When They Cry aren’t dubbed), but I do pretty much stick with dubs when available (although I always watch WTC subbed for consistency). Even old dubs from the 80s/90s have a retro, low-budget kitsch factor that I appreciate, and usually work with the material. I don’t care what other people watch, but I do think some people are way too harsh on dubs. They’ll remember one they dislike and think they’re all like that.

Just the three leads Marc Diraison, Carrie Keranen, and Kevin T. Collins are reprising their roles as Guts, Casca, and Griffith respectively from the ‘97 series and The Golden Age Arc film trilogy. Michelle Newman is also returning as Rickert.

I am hoping that Crunchyroll pushes out 2 episodes of the English versions for My Hero Academia and the other anime series on Saturday, to make up for last week's delay.

Mike Haimoto accused of domestic abuse and sexual assault:

He returned for the current season of Vinland Saga. I'm assuming he's done after this.

He also directed Discotek's new dub for one of the Fist of the North Star movies.

These days it's easy to assume guilt and let the public decide but Sentai and Crunchyroll are presumably doing their own investigations but wouldn't be surprised if he's canceled (re-cast) before they're concluded.

Sounds like a horrible person but he might not have done anything illegal for all we know. It sucks for real victims but sometimes there's bad blood during nasty breakups and the truth is exaggerated that makes the situation appear worse.

Right or wrong it seems to be a normal occurrence of revealing everything publicly instead of letting the proper people and organizations deal with these things privately.

this situation happens in multiple areas with voice actors. It happened with Flash's voice actor for the DC Cinematic Universe, but he got away with it, because DC promised the actor an solo movie in his contract, and DC didn't want to spend more money reshooting the entire movie with an new actor.

You mean Ezra Miller? Cause that’s a live action ordeal.

Cheers to the streaming bubble busting and companies realizing physical media is where to be. Almost every major studio now licenses stuff out. And anime is now a hot commodity.

Except that with anime, most stuff is lucky to hit 10,000 units in their lifetime. Print runs are still much lower than the anime DVD bubble. Something to keep in mind, nearly a year later, not a single Discotek limited number release has yet to sell out despite being limited to under 2,500 units.

Crunchyroll is now at around 10 million paid subscribers. A couple years ago is when they finally hit 1 million.

I'm surprised. Usually the companies kick them as soon as possible after news comes out.

That's not an option unless the company has the time/money to go back and record a new VA and mix-in their work. That pretty much only happens when all the recording and mixing are done before a dub is put out to the public for consumption, which isn't really how things are done for the most part now.
