Default The Official B&W Speakers Thread

Please discuss your B&W speakers in this thread. You can include pictures, reviews, or any other comments regarding your speakers.

Manufacturer’s Website: http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/display.aspx?infid=766

I figured we should have a thread because I notice a decent number of members with B&W speakers, and I know we all love em to death!

So I guess I'll just start this out by saying I had heard of B&W but there are no local dealers so I never got to audition any. After a bit of shopping around for a good set of stereo speakers, I decided I would audition B&Ws on my next vacation, and long story short I ended up with a pair of 601 bookshelf speakers for the bedroom for a great price. I know my speakers don't really stack up to some of the B&W owners here... but I love em the same!

Nice thread. I have a pair of 603 S3's and will eventually be getting a matching centre channel, when the pocket book allows for it.

Thumbs up Yes !

I have the 683's for my front L/R the htm62 for my center and the 686's for the rear surrounds. The sound is simply AMAZING !

I heard from my B&W dealer that they are going to do away with the 700 series. He stated that the 683's sound so good that the sound quality in the 700 series although sounds a tad better is not good enough to maitain that specific line of speakers.

you better hurry up because the older 600 S3 series is discontinued

I use 6x 603 s3 as my surround system with an LCR600 S3 as centre to make up my 7.1 surround system. love it.

Thinking of moving to the 684's early next year, though i am tempted to move to the klipsch THX ultra2 system.

I'd love to see a few pics of your set-up. Are you thinking about uploading a few pics to the Home Theatre section?

sorry, link in my signature.... trying to get updates, but have been ridiculously busy lately.

I plan on uploading the bigger pictures for the HT Gallery (only the important ones, not all of my pointless ones in my build thread )

I've had my B&W's for 10 years, and I still smile when I turn on my system. Very good speakers.

I can post pics .
I really like watching Day after tomorrow with them .
Some times the speakers make sounds that I swear came from somewhere else rather than the speakers (it sounds so real) I play it back then I know it was from the stereo..
Remember im using 2 mcintosh amps ..one for each speaker

My Home Theater is in a small room (11ft X 11 ft). I have the following B&W speakers:

HTM4S (Center)
805S w/stands (Fronts)
CWM 800 (Rears) I think.

I am driving these speakers with a Sunfire TGA-5400 amp.

I am very pleased with the sound this setup produces.
