How I connected everyting...

TV
HDMI 1 IN from Blu-Ray HDMI OUT
R-L Audio OUT to Receiver TV Audio IN
Cable/Ant IN from Cable Box

Blu Ray
HDMI OUT to TV HDMI 1 IN
R-L Audio OUT to Receiver Video 1 Audio IN

Home Theatre Receiver
TV Audio IN from TV R-L Audio OUT
Video 1 Audio IN from Blu-Ray R-L Audio OUT

I'm using a MONSTER HDMI cable, unfortunately I don't know what kind because someone threw out the packaging.

----------------------------------------------

My problems...
-When watching a DVD or Blu-Ray disc, the picture seems to be moving too fast. It's like the movie is sped up, but it's not. I'm not sure if maybe that's just how high definition movies are because I've never seen one Also the picture seems very BRIGHT. When I press the theatre button on the remote, it darkens the picture and makes it seem like it's playing at normal speed, but I'm not sure if that's the real solution.

-When watching a DVD or Blu-Ray disc, I only hear sound out of the TV speakers and the front left and right home theatre speakers. I have a feeling I need a different cable, but I'm not sure what kind.

-When watching TV I only hear sound out of the TV speakers and the right and left front home theatre speakers. Are all tv shows in surround sound or am I completely wrong

--------------------------------------

So I think I explained everything as best as I could. Those were the only problems I noticed, but if you see anything ele wrong with how I connected anything, please let me know. All I want to do is see and hear everything how I'm supposed to. Thanks in advance for your help

Here is how you SHOULD connect everything:

TV
HDMI 1 IN from SF2300 HDMI OUT
R-L Audio OUT to Receiver TV Audio IN
Cable/Ant IN from Cable Box
IF your cable box have digital coax/optical out, use that instead of R-L Audio out from your TV to the SF2300. The reason is that if you're getting HD signals from your cable box, those signals are encoded with Dolby Digital 2.0/5.1 audio so letting the SF2300 do the decoding is the best option.

Blu Ray
HDMI OUT to SF2300 HDMI 1 IN
R-L Audio OUT to Receiver Video 1 Audio IN By using HDMI to the SF2300, you supply it with both audio and video from the BD player.

Home Theatre Receiver
TV Audio IN from TV R-L Audio OUT See above. If your cable box do not have digital coax/optical in, the R-L connection is correct.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET:
1 HDMI cable. Get this one from Monoprice. It's 4 feet and costs US$3.78.
1 optical cable. This is for the 5.1 audio solution to your cable box. Get this one from Monoprice. It's 4 feet and costs US$3.78. If your cable box only has digital coaxial out, use a short RCA cable that you have and plug that in; so long as the SF2300 recognizes the signal, you should be okay.

Too bad, 'cuz you could have gotten a refund.

Advanced Contrast Enhancer (ACE) : TURN IT OFF
MPEG Noise Reduction : TURN IT OFF
Image Blur Reduction : TURN IT OFF
Motionflow™ Technology : Motionflow™ 120Hz :TURN IT OFF

Once you've turn off all of those features, you need to calibrate your TV. Use a BD calibration disc. You can get this one on Amazon for US$16.95.

These two problems will be solved with the above solution: HDMI connection between your BD player and the SF2300; a digital coax/optical connection between your cable box and the SF2300.

TWO IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE: Set your BDP-S350 to decode Dolby Digital, DTS and Dolby TrueHD. ENSURE that Dynamic Range Compression (DRC) is turned OFF.

Your BDP-S350 CANNOT DECODE DTS HDMA. If you have the money, return this unit and upgrade to BDP-S550. That unit can decode DTS HDMA so that you can enjoy all BDs. You can also choose other BD players that can decode DTS HDMA, including the PS3.
