Thanks, this is still going to be a work in progress. With the addition of the lens, I need a new screen now. I am trying to decide if I would like to go with a permanent screen or another electric. The electric has been very easy, but it is/was very expensive and if I am ever able to do any "building" I would rather go with an acoustically transparent version.

but, the lens is on its way.....

Very nice gear phansson! The Star Wars props and posters are an excellent touch too.

Thanks Louie. What can I say, I am a Star Wars fan. Been one since 1976. The movie posters are something that brings back a lot of good memories of when I was a youngster.

Hopefully I can do some other minor changes this year. I am really looking forward to going to a CIH setup. That was my goal this year and it appears it will happen.

Loving the retro movie posters.

The closet to display case conversion is a pretty awesome idea as well.

I am a sci-fi fan, but more of a Star Wars fan. I remember waiting in line for hours to see the originals and camping out a full day for Episode 1. Yes, I am a Star Wars nerd. Now I have a 6 year old that I can "geek" out with. He is into the Clone Wars on cartoon network right now.

My wife hates me.

Thank you.

The movie posters are just something that I have wanted to own for quite some time. I started with just a couple to decorate with and now I have a pretty nice collection of all original issue posters. If you think home theater is expensive, posters can range from $1 up to $1 million if you like original issue Universal horror one sheets. It is a CRAZY hobby.

The Stormtrooper suit was my costume for Halloween in 2006. My son was Darth Vader and I was his "guard". Of course I went overboard, but I have wanted a stormtrooper costume since 1976. So again, it was a nostalgia thing. I did purchase it with the thought of putting it on a mannequin in my theater room. At least that is how I justified the cost.

Good stuff phansson. It's a great thing when your kids can get into something that has been part of your life for so many years.

It's pretty cool when one of my girls (8,13,14) comes up to me and says, "Hey dad! Lets watch Sith or Empire, Jedi or Clones. The Clone Wars on Friday night is a family event. Good "geek out" time.

Look what I just opened. I picked up this ISCO II with mount (it appears to be an old one) for a great price last week. I received it this morning. So the theater is going to go scope in the near future!

Congrats!

Did you shoot those pics in a golf shop or something?

We'll all look forward to seeing it mounted and in action!

Ok, finally received all of the parts for my new mount and after some modifications to the ISCO II stand, we are installed!

First order of business was getting a new projector mount. My old draper was only rated for 24 pounds. Of which the projector weighed about 23. So adding the ISCO II lens (about an additional 6 pounds) was out of the question. So I upgraded to a Chief mount.

Originally I had planned on using the old Draper mount to hold the anamorphic lens, but after doing some research, I decided to modify the ISCO mounting rods to fit into the Panamorph chief mount.

Here is how I did it and finished product.

This is the ISCO II mounting rod. Which is solid steel (stainless I think). This will not fit in the groove of the panamorph mount.

A customer of mine has a machine shop. He machined a groove and also bolt holes in the solid rod.

Groove fits nicely in the Panamorph bracket now.

ISCO II is up and running. I need to tweak it a little bit. But the install was actually pretty easy.

Very nice result! I like how the mounting rods were machined to mate with the Chief Panamorph mount.

I just put my sled/lens back up a couple of days ago. Pics/impressions are in my thread...

Thanks Brain,

I couldn't find an application that really fit what I wanted. I plan on leaving my lens in place without a slide. The machined parts turned out great. I still do not have it tweaked perfectly. I will wait on that hurdle until I get a new screen. Unfortunately, I have to have an electric screen. I would prefer to do a curved screen (like yours) with masking, but I don't think I my wife is going to let me.

Your install looks great. Are you happy with the results? Of course after you get your new Sim projector, you will have two new toys.
