It can only be heard if you put you ear right up against the tweeter.

Does your center speaker hum too? Do you recently get an amp?

The center speaker doesn't hum at all. I don't have a separate amp, just my Yamamha AVR.

I have a pair of ADP-390s as my surrounds and I love those speakers. I highly recommend them to anyone interested in getting a new pair of surrounds. Be adviced: You're going to want your whole system to be Paradigm.

I have a pair of Atoms as my back surrounds, but there aren't that many movies with 7.1 audio and I don't get to hear them as much as the 390s.

I had a Paradigm front stage as well (Monitors) but I never plugged them in. I'm happy with the Polk front stage I have. I ended up selling them.

If I ever upgrade my system (and I'm thinking I will) I might get some Studios ... I'll just need to save a whole lot of money.

Does anyone know if the Paradigm Monitor CC-290 comes with rubber speaker feet or some way to angle the speaker?

The position of the speaker will be too low on my stand and I need a way to slightly angle it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

My speaker will FINALLY be arriving tomorrow after a lengthy wait.

Thanks in advance.

My recently purchased CC-490 came with rubber stamps but I had to lift them up myself in the back to get the right angle I wanted (used some old vhs tapes). No problem for me though because it's in a bookshelf above the Sony TV so you can't see anything.

I picked up a pair of Monitor 9's today and before I've even opened them I'm pondering going back and exchanging them for a pair of 11's. Mostly because I'm thinking the 11's might work better with my center, which is the monstrous CC-390.

I am admittedly a speaker newbie, and am upgrading from a pretty modest set of Sound Dynamics which are just one or two steps above a HTIB set, so I expect I'll enjoy whatever I end up settling on, but I figure if the 11's are worth it I'll spring the extra few hundred.

Thoughts? Input? It would definitely be appreciated and I thank you in advance.

I don't think they make anything specifically for these center speakers but I have read somewhere else someone suggest door stops - that would angle it up pretty good but maybe too much. I am using Foculpods, which are kinda like gel pads that raise the front of the speakers up close to 3/4 of an inch. Only other thing I can think of similar to that would be rubber feet under a fridge or stove or antivibration feet for a washer/dryer. I bet if you look around at home you might find something that could work.

Thanks! That means a lot man I put a lot of time into the whole thing from online research to a quite a few in store auditions, dragging the wife and kids with me to the AV store when we would go to the city... did a couple of in home trials... and even the whole basement planning(although I didn't think of separate circuits now I can't add much more as far as amps go). But I'm pretty happy with it all - I love my speakers and those will be staying for a long time.. I am actually looking for ways to make them sound even better... I'm pretty happy with my receiver but I'm gonna try a couple of others at home to see if there is any improvement over the Yamaha.

I also had some cousins visiting last week and I don't even know how many movies they watched - even after I passed out they stayed up to watch some more.. and I do have a guest room right in the basement where HT is setup!

God bless you too ozzman!!

Default Matching a good center with my Monitor 9's v.2

Being new to this forum, I was curious if anyone had some ideas for replacing my center channel. Here's my setup:

Front L&R - Paradigm Monitor 9's (v.2) (just bought)
Center - Paradigm CC-370 (v.2)
Surround L&R - Paradigm Monitor 7's (v.2) (just bought)
Surround Back L&R - Paradigm Monitor 3's (v.2)
Presence L&R - Paradigm Mini Monitor's (v.2)
Sub - Paradigm PS-1200 (v.2) (just bought)

I had the 3's up front before, and now with the 9's I was thinking about replacing the center. Maybe the CC-570 (7.5" woofer - close to the 9's 8") or the CC-390 (for bragging rites - just kidding)

Any opinions?

Cinemas are Paradigms version of HTiB. I was attracted to them because of their small size, but after listening to them I have decided to go another route and not hang my fronts from the ceiling.

I am considering the below setup and am interested in feedback/thoughts on it:

Fronts: Titan Monitor on S-18 stands
http://www.paradigm.com/en/paradigm/...4-1-2.paradigm
Center: CC190
http://www.paradigm.com/en/paradigm/...4-1-6.paradigm
Rear: Atom Monitor

The Monitor series is a good choice especially for HT. Depending on your room size there are many speakers in the Monitor line to choose from. If your room is a medium or average living room size, then your choices would work except maybe get the CC-290 over the CC-190. Check'em out and see what you think. Good luck man.

I will seriously consider the 290 center channel. I agree the center is really the most important speaker for HT use. The reason why I did chose those surrounds is that the way my family room is wired my rear speakers need to hang from the ceiling. Unless someone knows of a way to hang the rear surrounds, I am forced to go that route.

PS: I just sent a note to Paradigm Tech Service to see if the ADP's can be mounted from the ceiling. Thanks for you advise.
