Talking New subs from paradigm just announced

Paradigm has just announced the addition of three new subwoofers to its recently announced Monitor Series 7 line. The new subwoofers feature the same new streamlined aesthetics and smaller footprint of the latest edition of the Monitor series loudspeakers. The three new Monitor Series 7 subwoofers are: the Monitor SUB 8, Monitor SUB 10 and Monitor SUB 12. All three subwoofers incorporate a number of trickle-down technologies from Paradigm’s Studio and Signature Series subwoofers, delivered in more conventional and smaller boxes.

The Monitor SUB 8, Monitor SUB 10 and Monitor SUB 12 are engineered around the same single-driver design. The SUB 8 and SUB 10 both feature a mineral-filled polypropylene cone with a new-to-this-series corrugated Santoprene surround (8 and 10 inches, respectively) first seen in the company’s ultra-high-end Signature Series, a 1½-inch 4-layer copper-clad aluminum voice coil, Nomex spider, 4.5 lb ferrite magnet and an AVS die-cast heat sink chassis. The SUB 12 turns up the heat with a 2-inch 4-layer copper-clad aluminum voice coil, 6.5 lb ferrite magnet, along with dual Nomex spiders and AVS die-cast heat sink chassis.

All three subs feature internal Ultra-Class D amplifers delivering 900 watts Dynamic Peak/300 watts RMS Sustained power and boast low frequency extension of 19 Hz (SUB 8), 17 Hz (SUB 10) and 16 Hz (SUB 12) (DIN). The Monitor subs are wireless-ready; with the addition of Paradigm’s PT-2 transmitter (sold separately), up to four Monitor subwoofers can be daisy-chained simultaneously.

Each sub in the line comes with an integrated USB port for PBK (Paradigm’s Perfect Bass Kit) equalization (sold separately), which analyzes the subwoofer’s response in a room and then sets the correct equalization parameters to obtain optimal sound, even with less-than optimal placement.

Designed, engineered, and manufactured in Paradigm’s state-of-the-art Toronto, Canada facility, the Monitor Series 7 subwoofers are the perfect complement to the newly launched Monitor Series 7 line of loudspeakers.

All three subs are available in Black Ash to match the Monitor Series loudspeakers and estimated US MSRP is: Monitor SUB 8 – $699; Monitor SUB 10 – $849, Monitor Sub 12 – $999.

So yesterday I placed an order for a pair and today I won a pair! (Looks like my wife is getting an unexpected upgrade!)

If you 'like' them on facebook (http://www.facebook.com/shiftbyparadigm) you'll be eligible to win a pair as well... Good Luck!

I think the Monitor 7's & center is a better deal, but will you have the chance to listen to them before you buy them? Ideally you should be able to, and then decide what you like best from there...

whats going on guys new to this site but i also have paradigms and i love them currently have atomv6 and cc-290 v6 and some cheap surrounds. i have been getting the itch to buy some monitor 7's or 9's v6 went to take a look at them and what did i find the new 7 series. i also included the prices for them. i had a chance to listen to them and i really like them. Thought you guys might like them and the prices they are going for. i spoke with the rep and he said i could get them for cheaper since i have bought from them before they are a local owned business. i ran both the 7's and 9's with my center channel they had it in stock. listened to matchbox 20 live it was awesome, asked to listen to a movie so they threw in Thor and i was impressed. Thinking about a new purchase.

Glad you like them. I have to say, the other day I gave a listen to the new Paradigm Monitor 7's v.7 and thought the v.6's sounded a bit better. little more bass and the highs sounded clearer.....Love the new look though. When I bought my Monitor 7's I also was looking to maybe go Klipsch, but decided not to. Love my Paradigms.

This is completely irrelevant and impossible to know but I'm quite curious as to why all the speakers on the right side of the display have their grills removed except for the SE1 and on the left side the SE1 is the only one with the grill not in place.

I believe its just to demonstrate what the speakers look like grill-on v. grill-off. Personally, I LOVE looking at speakers without the grills...

Connect to your center amp w/ jumper removed & listen to which pair drives your MW. Disconnect. Then install your own jumper between the BPs. Reconnect your center amp to MW BPs. Enjoy!

Cheers tony

Thank you very much. Bi-wiring isn't what I thought it was. I'm going to bi-wire it afterall.

All my cable is here. My new banana clips are here. My new shelf is ready.

Still. Just. Need. The. Center.

He shipped it on October 17th. I'm just a TAD pi$$ed.

Default It's HERE!!!!

Guys,

I got my new center yesterday and hooked it up last night.

WHAT.

A.

DIFFERENCE

The transitions from center to left and right are sooooooo much smoother. Sound naturally flows across the front stage now whereas it used to be very obvious that sound was in the center....then jerking into the left and then the right.

The first 6 mins of Pirates of the Caribbean 3 were always annoying to me, because the singing kid always had a sharp tone that would stab at my ears like a ice pick. When the executioner plants the stool down, it was always similar. Now, everything is organic and seamless.

The wait sucked, but now that it is over, I can't wait to drown in a weekend of Blu-ray bliss.

Oh and incidentally...the dude who sold it to me packed it like a total champ. It was soooooo clean, I was actually a little ashamed of how my own center channel looked next to it and I take really good care of my stuff.

Anyway...thanks to everyone who was with me on this thread while I waited.

~LD

Paradigm is officially the nicest, most helpful company I've ever had to deal with!

Long story short, yesterday I put a pretty bad ding in my Millenia 20 Trio Tweeter (I was doing something stupid ). I tired some home remedies to fix it but it only made it worse. So today I called their parts phone number to inquire about replacing it. Lady on the phone named Kate was super nice and helpful, I asked her how much it would cost (I'm thinking $100-200), nope...only $30!

I said perfect, I'll take it! They didn't hassle me with warranty info, where I bought it, serial number, blah blah blah. Just took my credit card and shipping info and said it will be here on Thursday! If I wasn't already a Paradigm fan for life, I am now!

ps. They have also called me several times to keep me updated on the status of my headphones. It just goes to show you how a small company that's focused on the quality of their products and their customers can really shine...well done Paradigm, well done.

That's awesome. I wish I could say I found Paradigm all by myself, but alas...I was introduced to them by someone and I've never looked back. They just make it soooo easy to love home theater and from my experience, alot of their (different) stuff goes great together.

Putting cost aside! In a shoot-out between 2 sub 12's and 2 PB12's who would be left standing? Considering two sub 12's to complete my Studios....

Between the PB12 + and the Sub 12? The SVS would walk away from the Digm in terms of output and most likely have a slight edge in extension. To be honest I've never really been all that impressed with the Sub 12, that's why I chose the Sub 15 when I was buying. If the budget permits the Sub 15 is the way to go.
