If this is true, I'm holding off on this update then. I payed $500 to get myC7 pro calibrated and I'm not going to risk losing the settings.

This seems to have become a strictly 2017-18 model thread

Why not keeping the 65" 3D panel instead of the 55"?

I still watch 3d but wanted a C8 for the better tone mapping (HDR) since we watch more 4k movies. Found the brand new 65 C8 on Craigslist still in the box for $1500, looks good so far but def needs a calibration. My calibration is scheduled for first week in December.

Best Buy released their Black Friday ad and the LG C8 55" will be $1699.99 and the C8 65" will be $2599.99.

I am still on the fence mainly due to the fact that my Panasonic plasma is still running strong after ten years, but I am planning on moving around April/May of next year and would rather get something after I move. Perhaps I will wait until BF time next year and consider the C9 models. But I game a lot so unsure if OLED is the way to go. I need to do more research regarding gaming and motion blur which always would drive me crazy when I would see some of the televisions on display at my local Best Buy store.

I've been gaming on my C7 for close to a year(?) now with a Switch, X and PS4. My satellite box gives me more image retention (which is hardly any) than the gaming systems.

Here's my C7 after 14 months of use. A lot of blu rays, sports, news, video games and Netflix. But that rectangle in the middle, not sure what that's from, and it's what I find most distracting.

Not really, it was in a unopened box with the straps still around it. They let me take it out and hooked his Blu Ray player to it, ran some slides which showed no dead pixels or major flaws. Put it back in the box and took it home, if something happens I will have to go through LG for warranty. They decided to go with a z9d because of burn in scares on oleds and best buy dropping the price of the z9.

That was a smoking deal then!
However, brand new 65" ZD9 at $2000 destroys any LG Oled deal available at the moment!

Did you run the pixel refresher? If not, try that and see if it helps.

I wonder how good the 3d is on the z9? Might make me sell this c8 lol.

Oh yeah, several times, I think it did help a little overall, but nothing for that center rectangle which is more pronounced than the other burn in.

Well it's active 3D for starters, so we would have to deal with battery powered glasses. I doubt that quality-wise, it could be any worse than LG Oled passive 3D considering the ZD9 overall quality

active 3D on my Panny Plasma is really good. I have never seen 3d on an OLED to compare.
