For those in UK has anyone received a personal confirmation that they will send you replacement disks ?

I emailed 3rd July asking for an acknowledgement but nothing so far. Received the auto reply a few hours after I sent my email, but that's been it. No other response.

I'm the same but somebody on Gallifrey Base has said they emailed back when they hadn't had a human reply and the response was that they only now email back when they have an issue with the proof of purchase and it should be taken as a sign that your proof of purchase has been accepted if you don't get a reply.

I think a small acknowledgement email would have been nice as it has created a little confusion but it is understandable as I imagine Doctor Who fans have flooded their inbox.

I guess it's a chicken and egg as they are almost certainly getting 100s of requests, so even just saying "Thank you, your email is noted, and we will mail replacements once available will take a few minutes."

But not sending that acknowledgement email means at least some people writing again clogging up their mail box even more !

This contrasts to the very quick replies and updates I have received from Zoom on the Agents of SHIELD packaging debacle and getting the digibook packaging from Disney. But then I guess complaints for that will probably be < 100 (all members here !).

If it is correct over 6,000 copies of the UK set have now been sold, they could given the number of DW fans online get 50%+ of those sold asking for replacements. Especially as it seems virtually all sales to date have been online sales.

I presume HMV had copies in store ? but have the likes of Tesco or Sainsburys ?
(I can't check Sainsburys any more as in my store all entertainment books, CD, DVD and BD has been dropped so they can fit in an Argos store, so they can close the Argos on the high street where we live).

It's poor practice to not send a confirmation email that they have received your request. How am I supposed to know my request was accepted and not lost in the shuffle? I'm supposed to just wait 6 weeks and see if it randomly shows up in the mail some day? At what point am I supposed to contact them again? A simple confirmation email would avoid that.

I've sent my email with my Amazon invoice attached. Hopefully, there's no trouble getting the replacement discs to the States.

EDIT: Looks as though I immediately received the auto-generated email about film clips, too.

It's even more problematic that they've switched from quick, personal responses (that people are reporting back on the message boards) to a system of no response at all. So people will naturally be wondering why others are hearing back and they are not!

I emailed when they were still responding to people, and it should be fine.

The BBC have said it will take 5-6 weeks for replacements to arrive.

I hope so too, and did the same with my Amazon UK invoice attached to the email. I received the same auto-generated email reply afterwards, but nothing else since then. If they are only actually replying when there is a problem with the proof of purchase, that might be a good thing...I suppose.

I don't mind if it takes 5-6 weeks or longer, as long as they are honoring the replacement discs.

They should do, as long as you have the Amazon UK receipt. I am in Australia and have had no problem getting replacement discs for faulty UK Doctor Who releases in the past.

I just wrote them and they said...."Thank you for contacting us regarding the issues you experienced the recent Doctor Who Tom Baker Blu-ray release. We are preparing replacement discs now and hope to have them soon. Thank you for providing your mailing address. We will ship these out to you just as soon as they arrive! Many apologies for the inconvenience."

hopefully, they won't send me the UK discs....

It sounds like these discs are accidentally the original discs repressed and not the new replacement discs. Revenge still has the CGI issue and the misspelt credits apparently. Haven't got the discs myself to confirm yet.

Sounds like something's been cocked up (again) - some people saying that one of the replacement discs has the same serial number as the original disc, while the other is different. Checked mine, and both are different. Can't check my discs yet!

Edit: looks Sontaran is fixed, but Revenge is still wrong - assumption being that they've accidentally re-pressed the old disc again...

What CGI issue did Revenge have?

Some of the optional CGI shots were not included meaning it was just the original effects.

Sorry but...

What a bunch of ******s. BBC Worldwide really need to go the same way as their Audio Go subsidiary and then let other quality and competent companies license their titles.
