I'm confused by recent posts.

I'm in the US but I own the UK set. I sent an email requesting the UK replacement discs several weeks ago and received a confirmation. I was under the belief that they would be sending the UK replacement discs to the US customers if that's what they request.

Is that not the case any more?

No reason anything has changed if you sent them the proof of purchase.
Nobody in the UK has a set of replacements yet - not correct ones anyway as there was a problem with the first lot so they stopped sending them out as soon as the problem was spotted.
In the next week or two UK buyers should get theirs so US buyers with UK sets should follow shortly.
Although the people at the BBC have asked for people to stop sending emails it might be a good idea to ask for confirmation that US buyers will also get them if you've got no definite info.

A couple reports showing up on Roobarb and GB with UK posters starting to get the 2nd Replacement Discs starting about 12 hrs ago. Very brief reports that showed at least a couple of the minor things had been fixed (spelling errors, etc).

No detailed disc checks have had a chance to done yet.

So be on the lookout over the next week if you on the list. I'm assuming the UK folks will be first and possibly US/AUS to start seeing some discs possibly in the next week or two

Mine just arrived and I’m UK based.

Hopefully the rest of you will get them today or soon, too.

The 1st report said they were coming plain in bubble wrap -- not even a paper disc holder. That's just wrong and can't end well for some.

Being sent from Sony DADC like Network packages for those looking at return post addresses

My replacement discs arrived today 27th September. They were in a jiffy bag separated by a layer of bubble wrap. Really disappointed.

My copy arrived today, but annoyingly Revenge of the Cybermen is still faulty. One of the CGI effects shots is missing, early on in Part Two, but I'm guessing the shot is actually on the disc, given it's just the one and other effects have been corrected, but that the disc hasn't been encoded to include that shot as well when switching the CGI on. So theoretically it should be a pretty basic fix.

I've sent off an email in the hope it'll be picked up, but I am getting sick and tired of this.

I would think that if the season 12 set doesn't return to availability, along with the replacement fiasco that might mean the season 19 set could be the end of the line for the Bluray range.
Season 12 was barely available 2 weeks before it was pulled so there will be loads of people who don't have it and without it won't feel the interest in getting the rest.

However, the notion that the set won't return seems a bit absurd. There's no way it would sell out in under 2 weeks so there must be recalled sets at the BBC where all that's needed is discs replaced for them to be suitable for sale again.
10000 copies in 2 weeks? Not a chance

It's almost like a metaphor for the way the BBC has always treated the show and its fans...

Sadly I think you may be right. This endless fiasco has put many off bothering with season 19, which is a shame as these, without faults, should be the definitive final versions. Many, quite rightly, are wondering why it's worth the bother anymore when they already have good DVD editions.

I'm getting season 19 without a doubt (if my pre-order is fulfilled anyway, I don't think Zoom fulfilled everyone's from season 12 as they ran out of stock and couldn't get more?), and hopefully it'll be checked within an inch of it's life to be free from errors before pressing but I'm sort of glad I missed out on season 12 now to be saved from the endless frustrations.

I'm considering cancelling my Season 19 pre-order from Amazon. I received my replacement discs today in a box, but the discs were just loose, rattling around in the box without any protection - and one was scratched! I'm seriously not happy! Not even sure I can be bothered going through getting another replacement. Getting a little tired of having to get replacements for faulty BBC DVDs/Blu-rays.

I'm not sure I want to go through all this hassle again for another 25 seasons. I'd rather just stick to the DVDs which have more than enough extras for me. Plus, I can't notice a significant difference in picture quality to justify buying all 26 seasons again. If the BBC carry on with these mess ups, then I find it hard to believe that all 26 seasons will get released on Blu-ray anyway.

I still don't understand why the UK only gets a limited edition packaging release (which is already out of print) and not a standard readily available package?

Please excuse the rant, I'm just a little annoyed.

Surprisingly, this is not correct. It was at the top of the sales charts (or second from the top) the week it was released. "Officialcharts" doesn't generally release numbers, but they happened to, in a news post, for one of the items that the S12 set overtook (which had 16,000 sales).

Emails to BBC Studios will have them confirm that there are (currently) no plans to re-press it and it is sold out. The Restoration Team folks have tweeted about the surprisingly good sales, etc. That team went from thinking this would be continually produced, even with differing packaging, to saying that plans have shifted.

I think it will go back into production. But, for now, they're hoping that the demand, and absurd ebay prices will have people preordering season 19. I don't think it's a particularly sustainable strategy, and as soon as they cover less popular Doctors, they're going to have some sets sitting on the shelves for a while. You're right that this is going to put some people off from getting into the range. They're probably hoping the collectors and scalpers balance that out.

Edit: source also with direct confirmation that it sold 6,000 by that Wednesday.

Still not convinced that all 10000 sold before they were pulled.
And if they did it makes even less sense not to press anymore. The release was clearly labelled as LE packaging so a standard version seems to be a no brainer.
If the US version included Dr Who Times I'd get that to replace the UK one I sold for £200 but it doesn't.
I did run off a copy of Dr Who Times and the one hour Tom interview and the 2 replacement discs include all of the rest of what I wanted which is The Tom Baker Years and the 2 new documentaries but should it be reissued I'd still pick it up for £39.99 again
