Dan in real life help - Blu-ray Forum

I just bought DIRL off ebay and it was a sealed movie. It will not play in the ps3. The movie plays about 10 minutes and the exact spot...in the coffee bar when he takes the muffin out of the bag, it freezes. Now when I rented from blockbuster a few weeks back...same thing. I have had NO other playback issues. Anyone else no of this or have this issue?

Have you ran any firmware updates through your PS3?

I don't know much about the PS3, but after two discs and the latest firmware updates it is hard to tell...

I have played countless blu ray, sdvds and games so I will see. I mean I can always return it for a new one

I'm not really able to provide much help for you on this one, but it is a known problem for a small subset of PS3 owners. I'll see if I can dig up some info on it.

I am watching DIRL on my PS-3 60g as I write this reply. It played fine through the point you described. I will continue to watch it and report any issues I may encounter.

I just watched this last night on my PS3 (60) running version 4.2. It was a rental from Zip.ca. No playback issues. Sorry to hear you are having issues, but unfortunately I have no answers for you. Good luck.

Well that was weird. I put in back in this morning, went to the part it froze and played right through. Guess it didnt want me to watch it last night
