A baby brother of my Conquest. I hope you enjoy it, Epik makes great subs.

Looks like we might be the only 2. The shortage of amps is really killing Chad's sales. I think the only model they're shipping right now is the Conquest.

I have been curious about Epik for sometime now and wouldn't mind trying out their Vanquish.

right now chad is revamping the entire line so all they are selling is the Empire. so far im loving it. i had a smaller ported sub before and wanted a better sub for music that could also give me my booms. The sealed design is great for music and my movies have been able to be played (loud) without fear the sub cant handle it so im happy. i must say i really wish i could afford duals right now lol

I am very close to ordering two Empires. My question is, are the two 12 inch subs exposed on either side of the box? Can you post more pictures of the woofers?

Shockwave: You meant two "15" inch drivers, right?

I don't own an Empire, but here is a picture of dual Empires. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/attac...4&d=1266695176.

It would appear each side has a driver exposed. But, does that mean there are two grills? Or the Epik label shows on two sides? The Epik thread on AVSForum is very active, you may get more responses there.

I'm kind of surprised that Epik doesn't get more love here. It's a brand I would be very happy to own if I was in the market for a sub.

Epik subwoofers are great and I agree that they don't get as much love. Unfortunately, they are partly responsible with their bad marketing. Check the link in post #1. Most of their subs are out of stock.

You have a good point. It seems most of their models are out of stock quite often. I was watching them pretty closely for a while because my MFW-15 has one of the amps in it that is known for failing and I was keeping my eye on a few different brands so I could make a quick decision in case my amp ever died and I decided to get a new sub altogether. Luckily I haven't had to make that decision. However, Epik is one of the top contenders I'm very interested in if the need ever arises.

I still find it strange that there are so few Epik owners active here. I don't think I've seen many other setups with Epik subs on Blu-ray.com.

For one thing, Epik subs just feel extremely solid, with great build quality. I don't think I can ever bottom my Sentinel. Not quite so with the other sub I own. Both brands sound great (although in different ways). The Epik stands out as a tank.

I don't think I've ever heard a single bad thing about an Epik sub, other than them not being in stock. I also don't know how I've never checked out your HT gallery until now. Very nice. Excellent job. 10.

Has Epik discontinued the Dragon already? I remember this came out not too long ago. When I go to Epik's website and click the Products button it's not listed at all. However, if I Google "Epik Dragon" I can get this. I just can't seem to find any way to get to that page by going in through the main page.

I sent an email to Chad at Epik a few months back when I was looking for a match to my Caliber(Which I would never sell btw..built like a mack truck) He replied saying they were holding off on new orders of all subs and focusing on marketing and producing "Empires". It's a shame too, I ended up buying an MFW-15 which works well in my setup but the Caliber just sounds better and deeper.

Thanks very much, Steve, for your generous rating. You have a sweet system and beautiful house.

I was looking at Valor and ran into the same problem: I could google to Valor's page, but not through their site. I actually called, and they told me Valor, Knight were both discontinued. So probably Dragon is gone forever.

I sent them an e-mail message today, and I just got a response. The Dragon has been discontinued.
