As you have seen - since you posted in it! - I started a new thread for the X95L, and this thread will be dedicated to the X93L. I wrote to a moderator requesting an edit to the title, so that should happen as soon as he has time.

I was convinced it's better to have separate threads for these TVs after all, considering there are regional differences involved. The X93L is exclusive to North America, and the only 2023 Sony Mini LED available in 65" and 75" in that region. Meanwhile, the X95L comes in 65" and 75" in select European and Asian countries, while only the 85" model will be sold in North America.

This obviously means these two TVs will largely be relevant to different people depending on where they live, so separate threads is probably the cleaner solution.

Does anyone have any peak brightness nit numbers on this model yet? I've seen a couple places claim it can only hit 750 nits, but that can't possibly be right, can it? That's like half of what my current LED (which is now seven years old) can do.

Sony's new 2023 X93L is much brighter than 750 nits in the 10% window size.

We have not measured the X93L, but DeWayne D-Nice Davis just took the X95L peak luminance measurements with his Colorimetry Research CR-30.

10% window, Vivid Picture Mode 1788 Nits. Custom Picture Mode 1312 Nits.

Full Screen, Vivid Picture Mode 804 Nits, Custom Picture Mode 727 Nits

The X93L is not as bright as the X95L, but they are close in peak luminance capibility.
