Thank you.
I have an LG 65" B2 and I love it. Only two 2.1 ports instead of four, but I only need one for my PS5. From what I've read, it's capable of approx. 5% less peak brightness than a C2, and the stand is cheaper, but it's plenty bright in my dark room. Also saved me about $400 from a C2, so I was willing to make what a consider these small concessions.

I've never been a sports watcher so I didn't worry about buying an OLED but I've started watching F1. What do those who watch sports do to prevent burn-in? Anything specific other than the normal settings that are already recommended for general use?

The new 2023 power supply is just to support the new 2023 a9 Gen 6's processor that has much more memory so the processing power/capabilities are upgraded. Also the new 2023 more energy efficient OLED module is also very helpful as they generate less heat and easier to drive high luminance scenes and permits the images to be stable and not dim.
I was thinking of the different settings of my LG C2 and was wondering about the Peak Brightness setting. I see that it's by default Off in SDR but set to High for HDR/Dolby Vision. I've played around with it while in HDR/Dolby Vision but can't say what might be correct. For instance, setting it to Off certainly makes the image less bright but not necessarily dim. And when I test the change with the Hong Kong fight of Godzilla vs Kong, the buildings, atomic blasts, and Kong's axe still come across as bright even if the overall image is less so.

So, is there a "correct" setting? Or is this simply subject to taste?

My C9 was professionally calibrated and my Peak Brightness setting is set to "High." You want to make sure you have the highest peak brightness on your TV to take advantage to what the TV has to offer.

Yeah, it should be off for SDR and High for HDR/DV

My C1 isn’t.

I’ve already noticed the OLED light has diminished a bit just over 6,500 hours which in turn effects every single color, not just sharpness.

I mean it's going to, just like every TV out there. I have a 2011 LED Samsung TV that is still going to this day but I can tell the brightness is way lower than it was back when I bought it 12 years ago.

No matter what technology you have today for TVs, they will all slowly get dimmer. It's not like CRT TVs where the tubes can last a very, very long time.

Anyone looking for an LG C2 series, Costco has them on clearance, I am unsure if all stores reduce their stock to clearance at the same time, but a buddy of mine sent me a photo of the LG C2 65" marked at $999.97. When you see the .97 it means clearance/final call.

Hi! Can anyone confirm that C3 model outputs DTS sound with its internal speakers (without using eArc pass-through and an external device for this purpose) ? Thank you!

Take a look at this video. I believe Vincent says it does output DTS sound. Skip to 20:50:

Dumb question lads, so I apologize, but is the LG C2 a good TV to go as far as 4K blurays go? It would be my first real 4K TV so I don't want to blow it

We upgraded from a 55" B8 to a 77" C2 and couldn't be happier. I like oleds in general but they have their quirks so if you have time and patience, I'd read through the threads if you haven't already. You'll want to pick up a remote on eBay to access the service menu to disable the aggressive backlight dimming. I really baby my tvs so I haven't had any issues with burn in and that's with using it for PC gaming

Edit: saw this post while trying to find out what new firmware update changed and it seems LG adjusted the backlight dimming so probably don't need to mess with service menu at all

I have no idea but the C2 update was first available at the end of July and it only got pushed to my tv last night. Started reading through threads on other forums but it got too late. I'll have to turn the dimming features back on through service menu and try it for myself

Default LG OLED C2 and G2 firmware fixed auto-dimming

Just confirming that LG’s August 2023 firmware update finally fixed auto-dimming (ABSL). I noticed this playing Diablo 4 and switching to the map screen which I do when ABSL kicks in to counter the auto-dimming. Now the screen brightness is constant. A quick internet search confirms the update fix for C2, G2 and CS models only.

A small window until the deal closes, but for the Labor Day weekend, LG is offered via Costco, Best Buy, etc. special pricing on the C3 models. At Best Buy, the 65" model is $1699.99, the 55" model is $1499.99, 42" model is $1099.99, and the 77" model at $2699.99. Best Buy is also throwing in a $100 e-gift card with purchase of the 65" and 77" C3 models.

I believe all authorized dealers match Best Buy. We do, but our current promotional offer is actually slightly better than the big box retailers.

Default LG’s Most Popular OLED TVs Just Fixed A Big Brightness Problem With A New Update

select quotes

"LG has issued a much-needed update to the software used in some of its 2022 OLED TVs. The firmware update fixes the auto-dimming feature, which means that your LG C2 or LG G2 TVs will now stay bright when they’re supposed to and don’t go dark for no good reason."

"This is the second such fix LG has released. It previously released a firmware fix for the 2023 LG C3 and G3 in March 2023 to address the same issue, where the auto-dimming feature was a little too enthusiastic sometimes."
