The DVD or the BD? CAPS renders at 1.66 so the BD would be cropped.

1.78 is at least close to the 1.85 theatrical OAR of Pocahontas. For II you'd lose some top and bottom.

Just one disc for both movies? That sucks, now I will have to stick with the cheapquel.

Can you tell us the PQ/AQ of the first film and also if the deleted song "If I Never Knew You" can be seen integrated in the film? Thanks.

We were talking about the sequel, no? If yes, the DVD of Pocahontas 2 was probably cropped, if it was in 1.66:1 (the sequel was NOT a CAPS film). Same as with BatB: Enchanted Christmas and FatH.

You lose a lot on the top and bottom and gain some to the sides.

Lol, from Pocahontas 2. the crop in the first movie is minimal (I would love it if it was 1.66:1 but it's ok in 1.78:1 as well)

I think with there being about 7 or so favorite Disney animated movies this year -- I don't think we'll be seeing Lilo & Stitch til next year. But it'd be a nice surpreeze if they do release it sometime this year. It was already a big surprize to see the Aristocats and Pocahontas being released this year! Then finding out about Aladdin for next year! I'm quite satisfied for now.
It would be a fantastic surprise if Disney brings Lilo and Stitch to Blu-ray this year, but I highly doubt it'll happen. We can only hope it will be out some time next year, and hopefully Disney will bring all three sequels out on Blu-ray as well.

But at this point, I think I would consider any time for Lilo and Stitch to come to Blu-ray to be a surprise. Not only has there been no word, or even rumour, that any 2D Disney animated classic between The Emperor's New Groove and Home on the Range, is being prepped for a Blu release, but surprise and randomness seems to be the way Disney decides to release its catalog titles, rather than public demand. I don't think anyone expected The Rescuers, The Aristocats or Pocahontas yet, or had any of them particularly high on their Disney Blu-ray must-buy list (The Rescuers may possibly be an exception, if only because it never got a Special Edition DVD).

They also don't seem to care about anniversary releases that much anymore. As we all know, this year is the 10th anniversary of Lilo and Stitch, and still no Blu-ray plans have been announced. It's also the 20th anniversary of Aladdin, and the Blu's not coming until next year. And this year also marks the 25th anniversary of DuckTales, and, never say never of course, but I highly doubt that Disney will put that out on Blu-ray. I'd be surprised if they even decided to finally bring the last episodes of the show out on DVD this year.

The Little Mermaid, Monsters University, Aladdin and probably Nemo (in Europe at least, the US may get it near the end of 2012)

Disney might release Finding Nemo around the Fall of this year in the US to coincide with the 3D release in theaters.

I always thought that that would never happen but Disney did back up their print by doing a 4k resolution scan due to the heavy deterioration of some of their older reels.

FatH was cropped from its AR as animated, but not from its theatrical OAR. DACs from 101 Dalmatians to FatH (including The Aristocats & The Rescuers) were animated at Academy ratio, but with the intent of matting in widescreen theaters to around 1.75:1 (except The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, whose component shorts were true Academy ratio); the full animated frame was intended for TV showings.

Though these titles were treated inconsistently on DVD, several of them were cropped to 1.66:1 if not true 16:9. Based on those titles and FatH BD, it appears Disney favors 1.66:1 because it gives a bit of necessary breathing room over theatrical OAR; however, even 1.66:1 occasionally cuts off some animated characters (most notably on The Jungle Book DVD). Nonetheless, I suspect most if not all of these will hit BD at 1.66:1; the most likely exceptions would be 101 Dalmatians & The Sword in the Stone, the two oldest of this group (also released while Walt was still alive).
BD players: PS3 Slim 250GB; LG BP550 (region-free); HP P7-1010 (w/ LG WH12LS38K, AMD HD 6570, Hanns-G HL227, Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers, PDVD 14 & 16)
A/V hardware: Sony XBR-65X900C (4K-3D); Vizio E3D320VX (3D); Galaxy Tab S2 8.0; Galaxy S7
