Their physical and digital distribution deal extends to Universal Home Entertainment. Thus they are Movies Anywhere because of the dual format deal.

STX decided to handle digital distribution themselves starting with The Foreigner. Universal continues to handle physical distribution for STX so Blu-rays and DVDs will be from Universal.

Where did you read this stuff about STX. I believe you, but would like to read about myself. Do you have a link?

Its in the quote in the post:

A member spoke to an executive at STX who explained their request to join was declined.

I still can't put all of this together. My readings not so good. A grenade went off right by my head.

But I kind of do recall, probably you, saying someone spoke to an executive about this.

Thanks!

I can’t figure out why they’re holding out now that UV is dead.

They may be under license with UV until July 31st and might not be willing to fork out the money to join MA until their commitment to UV is over.

At the end of the day it is usually all about the Benjamins

Pretty much the reasons why Lionsgate, Paramount and MGM are not MA is financial.

None of these are in a rush to spend the money to join MA. All are in rough shape.

Paramount has been in bad shape the last couple of years. Losing like $450 million a year.

Lionsgate has been trying to sell.

MGM is owned by a hedge fund manager and he currently wants to use the library for his own streaming service.

Noticed dora 4K on FandangoNOW @ $29 while it was @ $19 hd/sd and while not a confirmation with movies Anywhere Disney wants $24 to buy 4K rather than $19 for hd so ultraviolet is gone and it might be a sign of them joining movies anywhere in the next few months!

Paramount normally does $25 for 4K so that might just be normal.

CBS and Viacom/Paramount have officially announced their pending merger, so definitely unlikely to see any action out of them until that's complete, but I'm hopeful the new combined company may be more interested in joining.
