The studio that DOES have the rights to release it here in the US is 20TH CENTURY FOX. They have decided (for whatever reason) that they don't want to release it on Blu-ray at this time.

A studio cannot release a movie in another country if they do not have the rights to do so.

That is why certain movies are released in other countries before they are released here. And vice-versa.
Well then, Fox should release it here.

Actually it was worth it. To pound the reason into your head.

Keep pounding then if it makes you feel better. In the end you were saying the same thing I was.

What I gave you is a detailed explanation as to why things are the way they are. You questioned it. There simply is no logic into your thought process of wanting everything to be released here at the same time as the imported versions. Maybe in some fairy tale land where everything just works out.

What? You said blah blah blah , I said I didn't agree. You said 20th century Fox had the rights to realease Fight Club, I said they should and you said you agreed. Where do you get the lack of logic from? The only lack of logic was you pretending to be an expert on distribution rights in a thread that was merely stating a frustration that I happen to agree with, and from the sounds of it you do to. So....

haha, oh my gosh. This has gotten out of hand. It's simply semantics here people. The guy above me got it spot on. Just frustration...that's all.

I think the anger is deep-rooted for their being a lack of se7en!

You didn't say you didn't agree. You were saying you didn't understand.

I am saying I want them to. But at the same time I understand why it has been released overseas but not here.

You wanting two different studios (Fox and Kinowelt) to coordinate simultaneous releases of Fight Club on Blu-ray in different territories at the same time is lacking logic. Things do not magically work that way.

How am I pretending? Go ahead and pick out anything that I said that isn't correct. Then explain to me why.

I'm not frustrated at all. I understand completely why different movies haven't been released here in the US but have elsewhere. What I WAS saying was that it would be NICE if Fox just happened to announce a release of a movie like Fight Club on Blu-ray soon.

O.K. Is this what you want?

You are a god among men. I only wish in my wildest dreams that someday maybe I can be as wise as you. Thank you so much for educating me kind sir. Next time I will know better than to express an opinion on a thread. Please forgive me for expressing my opinion that movies should be released in the U.S.

Actually, what I said was, I didn't get your point, and I still don't, especially about the Sweeney Todd reference.

I don't want studios to coordinate releases, and don't know where you could have conjured that one up from. What I want, again, is for the studios who have the rights to release movies here to release them here. Sorry if, to you, that is lacking in logic.

Well then there is absolutely no hope for you whatsoever. I cannot think of any way to dumb down anything more than I already have.

You stated that in this post:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...2&postcount=28

That you were agreeing with the original posters frustrations. The OP stated this specifically:

Im sick and tired of having my favorite movies being released somewhere else than the U.S....what is the deal with this crap!

I explained what the deal was to him and to you. Somehow you are all ****ed up in the head and are having problems with the reasoning behind this. End of story.

K. Good job Tiger.

I still want movies that are made in the U.S. to be released on bluray in the U.S.

Is that dumbed down enough for you?

Do you understand WHY they haven't been released here? Of course not.

What you want is asking a lot.

The studios, big and small, have hundreds of movies they have acquired distribution rights for per year. It doesn't mean that the movies would get a theatrical release; some movies that were released in the theaters in Europe get a direct-to-DVD release for example. Just because a movie gets a theatrical release, doesn't mean 4-8 months later it will get a DVD/BD release. Some of the factors that makes the studios to disincline a DVD/BD release include low test audience ratings, and bad audience reviews if it gets a theatrical release.

So be frustrated but then let it go. You're not supposed to get everything that you want when you want it.

Thank you Dr. Phil.

Yet that wasn't what the OP was saying. Or what this thread was even about.

I guess you don't want Lawrence of Arabia, Braveheart, X-Men 1 & 2, Das Boot, Titanic, Australia, and the Lord Of The Rings trilogy.
