I downloaded the 1080p HD transfers from Germany and they look phenomenal. If Fox release a set, I'd buy it in a heartbeat, but if they won't release new TV shows on Blu (Glee), what chance do we have of a 20-odd year old show getting the Blu treatment?

I think they have a better chance in some ways, people seem to reluctant to upgrade their DVR HD copies to BD copies because they're almost the same but we only have the DVDs. There's incentive there and a market. They need to offers consumers something they haven't got!

I totally get what you mean. On another forum someone was complaining about the colours in The Terminator and how they had been adjusted, giving it a more orange and teal look. I looked at the pictures and saw a difference. Then the next thread was someone complaining about The Thing. I looked at it... And could not see the problem. The snow was a slightly different shade, but it honestly just looked like the BluRay was just displaying subtle shades that the DVD couldn't handle. It's a very hard line to draw and varies for different people. They are rebooting Lost in Space? |

OMG I'll never forget that episode.
I was working the night shift on Friday nights, and taped all the X-Files episodes then watched around 1am when I got home. So, of course I'm watching in bed, with the lights off, and that damn scene where the cgi cockroach crawls across the screen caused me to jump so damn high, I think I sprained my entire body! Oh man I was looking for that damn bug for 15 minutes before I rewound the tape and saw the scene again! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I started watching on Netflix intending to do a complete run, but got annoyed by the particularly poor quality (it's not even "decent" by SD Netflix standards). I only made it the first couple seasons, assuming there would be a blu-ray soon. At this point, since I"ve held out so long, I pretty much refuse to watch until a blu-ray happens (or at the very least, that horrible Netflix version is upgraded to HD... but why not release a blu-ray at that point also?). |

The screenshots of the HD remasters are amazing!
I've just started a rewatch of Series 1 (after reading about the show hopefully on its way back) and some of the picture quality on those early episodes are really quite shabby on DVD. The sooner this show comes out on Blu-ray the better. |

Quick question. In Syzygy, around the time of image 3, there is a shot where a cheerleader falls (or is telekineticly pushed). On the DVD the footage has clearly been sped up and is slightly unconvincing. Does this look any different in the remaster? I imagine a motion blur filter or something could have improved it.
