what kind of stupid question is this. How else will you watch the movie. Its like these people who buy action figures and keep them in the package its so utterly pointless

I sold a John Rambo opened for $300USD and a sealed one for $600USD, the difference was even higher for my 4 Iron Man FS, my opened copy sold for $150USD and my 3 sealed between $400-$600USD. That is just a very few examples, I made over $25K of profit for the whole collection and wouldn't have made a cent if they were opened. Now tell me it's stupid and pointless. ![]() |

i dont open them until the moment i decide to watch them, then i check their value and decide if i should just buy a diff copy and keep it sealed/sell it. there are some i pick up that'll probably never watch that i got just because i saw them selling out quickly like ready player one and hocus pocus

Now that steelbooks are about as rare as beanie babies, there is no point in keeping them sealed unless you have serious OCD issues that should really be treated.
The days of steelbooks gaining obscene value are long gone. Nothing released now is very limited, and in fact can be found on shelves months after release. Shame too, as reselling steels paid for majority of my movie collection. Now i just get 20% back by reselling digital copies. |

the only ones I don't open are the Disney Signature collection steelbooks from best buy. For those I buy the regular and the steelbook and open the regular. Later down the line I plan to resell all the Disney animated steelbooks in one set. Call me a scalpar all you want but it's not like I'm wiping out the shelves at Best buy.
