I'm as indecisive as they come, so it's a tie between:
Aladdin ![]() and Touch of Evil ![]() The Aladdin steel looks absolutely stunning in person. The paint job is the best I've seen, and I love the embossing. The Touch of Evil steel is a bit plain when it comes to artwork, but the orange color is amazing, and I just love looking at it. |

The Japanese blu-ray steelbook edition of "The Dark Knight" ...love the expression on Heath's face as the Joker.
Question for the forum: I think it's a nearly perfect blu-ray case except for the title "The Dark Knight". I don't think it was necessary to place the film title on that picture, taking away from the brilliant simplicity of the cover (maybe on the spine, but not on that spectacular black and white picture) I also feel the same way for the Japanese steelbooks of "Blade Runner", "SE7EN", "The Last Samurai" and "V For Vendetta". After I expressed my opinion on the matter, a co-worker recently commented "Of course the movie titles have to be on the cover! That's the way it's always been done!" At the risk of coming off as an extreme film snob, I responded that the titles were on the cover on all of the other versions (and some of these films have many, many versions on blu), but that I wished these were specifically aimed at true hardcore cinephile/film collectors. He actually said (about "Blade Runner" and "The Last Samurai") "If the cinephile is just looking at the picture with no title how would he know what film it was?" to which I responded, "Anyone who doesn't know what film it is from seeing the front picture(s) of the japanese steelbooks for "Blade Runner", "SE7EN", "The Dark Knight", "The Last Samurai" and "V For Vendetta" is not a cinephile." Am I just being a film snob? Or wouldn't it be great to have these amazing covers without the titles scrawled across the pictures? Or is it both? Either way, I'm just curious on what other dedicated film fans/cinephiles/blu-ray collectors might feel with regard to this matter. ![]() |

P.S. I was trying to quote the Taxi Driver pic from illy Scorsese's post on my previous post, but that's a pretty darn beautiful steel in its own right!
