Is there any UHD steelbook of this anywhere that includes Grease Live? All I see is the UHD with no mention of it (and no steelbook), a blu-ray that does include it, and then there seems to be several UK/EU UHD steelbooks, but I don't know if any of them include Grease Live. I know the UK Zavvi steelbook doesn't include it. What about the German steelbook?
For that matter, are there are any non-steelbook UHDs that include Grease Live? Why can't they just make it easy for once? The UHD seems to be getting the shaft with this release. No steelbook in the US, and the steelbooks in other regions are not getting Grease 2 or Grease Live. Yet the standard blu-ray does. Last edited by mar3o; 04-04-2018 at 02:01 AM. |

It stinks. I'm getting the locker and the 4K disc so I can have Grease 2 (I haven't seen it yet) and Grease Live along with Grease in 4K.

Well, ended up ordering the Zavvi steelbook. I subtly asked my girlfriend about Grease 2 and Grease Live and she hates Grease 2 and said Grease live was okay but she'd rather just watch the real thing, so I guess I won't worry about those. She has no idea this is coming out so it should be a nice surprise.
Shipping to the US ended up being cheaper than I thought it would be from Zavvi so it was only a few dollars more than the US standard UHD release. |

According to RAH, Grease is a winner for PQ and AQ.
Sounds like the DNR fears some had based on that Youtube trailer video are put to rest. https://www.hometheaterforum.com/com...lu-ray.356902/ |

I'm hopeful about this -- and the sound seems to be an unequivocal improvement. Buuuut....
I have to be honest -- when I watched the version on iTunes (which is the new master), it looks pretty much identical to the shots in the new Youtube trailer. Colors are amazing. Film grain is present, but on iTunes the grain has a very smoothed-over look. In other words, I would not be surprised if we have something similar to 3:10 TO YUMA (which RAH also gave 5 stars to for PQ.) |

It's amazing to me how many comments in that thread start with "I was gonna skip this, but...". It's a good job HTF isn't the swingin' place it was a decade ago, otherwise RAH's anti-HDR Kool-Aid might've done this format some damage. Interesting that he mentions the "proscenium" when it comes to the audio, as that usually means screen channels.
I'm not encouraged by the mentions of very fine grain, but look: as long as this isn't T2 or Batman Begins levels of DNR then I can live with that. And getting the 6-track audio to bypass that hideous old 5.1 mix is worth some sacrifices elsewhere. |

Yeah I'm curious about that grain comment as well as reanimator's iTune experience. Maybe it truly has a very fine, tight grain where as iTunes compression wasn't good enough to show it? Reminds me a little of Thief where as the Arrow BD showed more grain than Criterion's from sheer encoding improvements. Hopefully we'll see some good screencaps soon, but surely this will be the best all around version of Grease up to date.
