this will sound like dubious praise, but i'm proud of this thread's members for barely acknowledging dark force's latest "marketing" blast regarding bill falling and getting his head stuck in/on/in the general vicinity of a toilet. it barely registered as a blip, as people chose to debate the merits of creepshow vs. creepshow 2 instead and that really pleases me. most people avoided the low-hanging fruit.

As bad as it seems right now, things are much better now than 5+ years ago. For one, we now have the expectation that things are going to difficult day one. Trust me, SOAWN will be much easier to get than DVDs of Cavegirl, Nightmare and Rituals were. Back then it could take years to see another batch make its way to the cartel. Now we can feel reasonably sure DiabolikDVD and Hamilton Books will eventually get copies of Code Red, so panic shouldn't set in the way it is.

This is getting really annoying. If he's really in bad shape it needs to stop being used as part of the sales gimmick by DF.

Used by DF? So you think DF is forcing Bill to don a banana suit, appear on livestreams, and use the craziness to sell Blu-rays? Seriously?

I think it's more of a symbiotic relationship. If I had to speculate, on some level I'd postulate Bill enjoys being the Bananaman anti-hero. He was doing the act before Dark Force was around in his DVD intros, but Dark Force made Bananaman into an actual thing instead of just being a goofy DVD intro. Dave likes producing these "promos" and fulfills his wrestling roots, plus he makes money.

Bill probably not doing so hot medically these days, is likely as a distraction enjoying the laughs, chaos, controversy, and sales Bananaman generates. And in a Kaufman-esque manner, likely feels compelled to keep Bananaman going - even when things are much more serious than they seem.

VOY holds a special place for me, I didn't care for any characters in DS9 outside of Odo, Garak and Quark. ENT is barely watchable. I watched all of the series here and there randomly whenever it was on, also about a decade ago I purchased the TOS Blu Ray sets and watched all of them, torrented some TNG and watched a couple of seasons.

Early TNG is VERY corny.

I recently purchased the UK region free complete Blu ray set of TNG for like $60 bucks, just started watching them again.

I have friends that swear up and down that DS9 is the greatest series and it isn't even close. I'll need to watch that too I guess, haven't really seen too much of it.

Cool that there are trekkies in here, figured most of you guys would be too cool for that.

DD's wrestling background has added a layer of levity to Bill's terrible situation. Though people uninvolved complain, what matters most is that this is good for Bill. Being in the hospital, two things can help. Laughter and cats/dogs. Kaiser is not known for its use of therapy animals. DD is providing Bill an opportunity to amuse himself and, hopefully, it will help, but I think we can all agree Bill has always enjoyed the Banana Man. I know I've always found him funny.

DD and Bill have formed an interesting partnership, to the benefit of both. But, when it comes to DF's wrestling-style hospital videos or Facebook posts, again, there is no substitute for a good laugh, when you are stuck in the hospital. It feels less like being trapped and more like being drowned, after about the first twelve hours. We can pray for Bill. David can make him laugh.
