I'm not working on Power Rangers.
Dino King didn't sell. I don't know anything about Metabots.

As for mine;

What are your thoughts on the upcoming Power Rangers sets? (the restoration, the bonus materials) and is the pilot (with Audrey DuBois) included? (during Lost Galaxy it was aired as a special with Austin St. John and Walter Jones).

What happened with Medabots and Dinosaur King? With Medabots in particular I was looking forward to the other sets, and from what I found on Shout's forums, low sales killed them, is that true? Were they finished but not released? What about MOD?

Thanks so much!

QUOTE=Alan Gordon;6081890]I'm assuming it didn't sell well on DVD, so I feel I already know the answer, but I'm going to ask anyway.

Any chance of the complete series of "The Middleman" on Blu-ray?

I own the DVD set, and recently watched a couple of episodes in HD on a DVR of mine, and was lamenting the lack of not owning this show in HD (iTunes is even SD).

Yes , it does

I do have another question for Cliff though. Did the Universal deal include any non-horror titles as well?

I'm loving all the horror announcements so far, but I'm just curious.[/QUOTE]

I'm completely region free, but I know many people who aren't, and would love to own some of these titles. It's just a shame that licensors force these region restrictions on distributors.

If you could secure rights or better transfer of (1970) I Drink Your Blood that might be a good acquisition. I bought Cheezy Flicks DVD of the film, but the transfer is full frame and appears to be from a VHS master. Great film that deserves better DVD or a BD.

A band of satanist hippies roll into a town and begin terrorizing the local folk. They rape a local girl and her grandpa goes after them. He fails and is given LSD. This bothers his grandson and he gets back at the hippies by feeding them meat pies infected with blood from a rabid dog. They turn into crazed lunatics and begin killing and/or infecting everything in their path.

Grindhouse Releasing still own the rights to this one, I think.

Fantastic film though.

Too bad on the Waxwork films - I saw that someone had asked about John Carpenter's "Prince of Darkness" but I didn't see a solid reply - since "They Live" was also done by Universal, is "Prince of Darkness" on the horizon as well?

Hi Cliff,

I was sorry to hear that the Corman releases did not sell well. I've greatly enjoyed them all and thought they looked fine. Are there any more Cormans down the pipeline?

I've looked at those films many times and pass on them everytime because the pricepoint just seems a little high for a director who was primarily known for low budget films. I realize they are part of niche cult genre from a speciality publisher, but I still expect to be able to browse Walmart.com and pick these up for under $9.99, not $15-20 as most are priced. I can't stomach paying $20 for an obscure David Hasselhoff film from the 70s, get that down to $10 and I just might.

I know everyone wants you guys to get the Friday films from Paramount, but I'm more curious about April Fool's Day. Would love to see the deleted scenes/alternate ending.

Also, any shot of snagging Prom Night from Echo Bridge, if they still have it. Would pre-order a limited edition from you guys with an included soundtrack in a heartbeat.

I'm probably going to be all over the place here with different studios but I'm curious if the company has had interest or is in the process of getting rights to any of these horror flicks..

-Prince of Darkness (still at Universal last I knew)

-The Serpent and the Rainbow (same as "Prince of Darkness")

-Re-Animator (Although I'm sure Anchor Bay is keeping tight grips on that one)

-Bride of Re-Animator (Not sure where this one is at these days actually, Artisan? The special edition is long out of print)

-Fright Night II (Same as "Bride of Re-Animator")

-Hellbound: Hellraiser II (There was a half assed version released on blu-ray by some budget company, so I held onto my Anchor Bay SE, but clearly it appears the rights are floating around)

-Clownhouse (Last seen at MGM, and out of print almost immediately due to legal problems I think? I was lucky enough to get a copy, I doubt MGM will ever touch this one again)

And just comment any thoughts on the following titles if you would, none of which have seen a blu-ray release yet..

"Fire in the Sky" (Paramount)
"Tales from the Darkside: the Movie" (Paramount)
"Night of the Demons" (Anchor Bay)
"From Beyond" (MGM)
"Dead Ringers" (Warner Bros.)
"Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2" (MGM, the latest verison had a great amount of features too)
"Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation" (Columbia Pictures? No release has had any special features, include the wealth of deleted scenes out there)

Oh and one last important thing Morgan Creek has given the OK to start fund raising to see the original directions cut the way Clive Barker intended "Nightbreed" to be to be released on a home video format such as blu-ray. Have you been keeping an eye on this, it would make a perfect selection for your new line of "Scream" releases. Check out "Occupy Midian" just to see how bad people are clamoring for this and there is high demand.

I would also just like to add, as a very serious horror fan, this new line of product "Scream" at Shout! has opened the flood gates and horror fans are incredibly please so far with what's on the board so far for release and please keep 'em coming, the fans are out there and there IS high demand to see our cult favorites given special edition treatments. Thank you sir.

The work they've put into these is pretty admirable, and worthy of the price tag. Humanoids From The Deep looks incredible on blu-ray! And Rock 'n Roll High School is a movie I can watch over and over and never grow tired of.

But I'm a fan of movies like Piranha or Galaxy Of Terror, so it is worth it to me. It ultimately depends on how much you like the movie. But in regards to presentation and extra features, Shout Factory has been consistently reliable. You get your money's worth.

The only Shout Factory release I regret buying would be The Stepfather DVD, when a blu-ray was released just months after.

I'm totally with "HorrorBlu" on this. I try not to buy DVD's anymore but when I do, most times they are "Shout!" releases, be it their incredible TV on DVD selection, i.e. "Larry Sanders Show", "Freaks & Geeks", "Undeclared", "It's Garry Shandling's Show" or "MST3k" ect.

"Shout!" gives incredible effort to lesser known titles that any other studio would never do. Look at their very awesome double feature of "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry" & "Race with the Devil" on DVD, commentaries for both films, interviews with stars of the films, trailers, tv spots ect. Another stand out release on DVD for me is the cult classic "Slumber Party Massacre" collection. The first two entries (the best ones) were given new anamorphic widescreen transfers, commentaries on all 3 films, an all new 3-part documentary, an extra "Revisiting the Slumber Party Massacres" feature on top of the 3 part doc., and photo/poster still galleries and theatrical trailers to boot.

"Shout!" gives a damn about the diamonds in the rough, the lesser known cult classics and for that they will forever have my business.

Seriously? People have become spoiled from how cheap stores like Walmart, BB, and Amazon started selling dvds at. Now they seem to expect everything to be lower priced, even an improved format that is more difficult to produce. It's no surprise the Corman series wasn't as successful as it should've been -- too many cheapskates.

Btw, this doesn't mean I don't look for the best prices - I certainly do. However, if there's something I want and I deem worthy, I'll pay whatever it costs in order to get it and support the people releasing it.
