What is an anamorphic Blu-ray?

Hang on: Are those in slips, in a slip?

As always the price is just silly also, give it a few months and it will get more reasonable, then I can get cover work more suitable.
I was just gonna say the same thing about the Drew Struzan artwork. Such a shame they've got rid of it.

I have to agree with you all. That is the worst covert art I've seen in a long time from a major studio.

For some thing like this a low volume back catalogue title these days, they would never go to the expense of producing censored UK only disks. Nothing in the films is likely to be compulsory cuts so they will just go with whatever rating is needed to get them passed uncut.

They seem very minor.

The Police Academy 4 cut was stupid - a shot of some super-glue

The Police Academy 6 cut removed some nun-chuks

Both have been released uncut on DVD already apparently.

I used to have five police academy posters on my bedroom wall when I grew up,then I watched 5 and took the part 5 poster down.
These are seriously great pieces of art that sum up the movies really well.
I'm still shocked they chose the artwork they did for the blu ray release.
The original DVD box set art was the right way to go,just add a blu ray logo on the box.

I think some focus-group has told studios that hand-drawn artwork is old-fashioned. I'd take floating-heads over that awful box set art. Just. I don't know who that horrible box set is aimed at. It looks like an instructional video and not something with a couple of great comedies inside it.

The film was made in the 80s, it's an 80's film. Use the original artwork. If people are put off my the original artwork the film isn't going to appeal to them anyway.

For me, the Police Academy films are guilty pleasures, films which you enjoy watching over and over again, knowing you will have the mickey taken out of you. Although I hate the seventh film to bits (absolutely awful). Favourite sequel is probably Citizens on Patrol or Assignment: Miami Beach. Already have the UK DVD boxset of all seven films, but might get this Blu-ray set at some point.

I too think the artwork they've used is awful, and much prefer hand drawn artwork to all this modern day movie poster artwork.
