You better do it fast, because I believe all the volumes are in the close out section of Righstuf. Volume 5-6 might be completely sold out now.

I've never seen any Gundam whatsoever, don't have the slightest idea what it is about. But, isn't it a mecha series? I generally avoid mecha series like the plague, lol...

Gundam is as much about what war does to people as it is about mechs.

I've seen:
Original
Super Deformed (that CGI crap that was on Toonami)
Seed
Wing

Never seen Unicorn, but I've heard it good.

Out of the four I've seen, my favorite is Wing.

No, no it is not...

Wing is one of the best. Though, obviously, it's a matter of personal preference between the Gundam series.

Wing was basically Sunrise asking "what if we made something totally derivative of Zeta and crossed it with Weiß Kreuz."

(Yes I know WK didn't come out until two years later, but work with me.)

As an aside, I can't be the only Gundam fan who doesn't give a hoot about Build Fighters, can I? It just sounds like turning Gundam into Digimon, and gets rid of the whole reason I watch Gundam in the first place.

Far from it. It has one of the best characters, Hiiro Yui. He pretty much makes Wing one of the best in the series of Gundam shows.

True, it's all a matter of personal opinion.

You're all damaged by Wing being your first taste of Gundam

Wing was my second Gundam series (the 0079 movie trilogy was first) and I consider it to be the best Gundam series to date. Zeta is a close second with ZZ in third.

I have to wait until I get my tax return to afford them.

If they are out, I'm sure someone will be selling them in the dealer's room at A-Kon. If not, I'll just wait until they do a complete box set.

Of course, since you're obviously not going to be running around and saying that Wing is the best Gundam

I saw the original first via imports, though Wing is my first dubbed viewing. That has nothing to do with it, it's just a superior series.

I guarantee you, that is not the general opinion of the show. It's quite the opposite, in fact. Wing has a lot of fans in the US because it was people's first taste of Gundam. Everyone else think it's a ridiculous teen emo crap show that just reworks the original UC story a bit and makes it a lot worse. I have no idea how there can be so many ardent fans of the show here; maybe it's all the 'murrcan members here

It's been known as being more popular with females due to it being more drama driven that other shows in the series. Are you sure you're not just letting your macho side influence you into thinking it's not a good show because it's not "man enough" for you? It's honestly a great show!

I'm sure. I struggled to get through it and I know that a lot of people dislike it.
