You can buy a 50" 4K HDR TV (I believe it's a Hisense) here in the US for $250.

So are those Vizio TVs quite cheap? I keep hearing US folk talking about them.

It depends on the Vizio you get. I recently bought their flagship model from last year and paid $1600. But the new version release a month or so ago sells for $2000 and is the highest priced TV they offer. So yeah, Vizio is fairly cheap comparatively speaking. Luckily for me the version I got is rated higher for HDR and I saved $400. So not bad.

But don't let the price fool you. The image is amazing. Rtings.com had it as the best LCD to buy since it was released in January 2019 up until a month ago. It has the brightest HDR of any TV available and I can believe it. My wife and son, who really couldn't care less about picture quality, were both blown away when I put in Bumblebee in Dolby Vision. My old LG UH8500 pales in comparison and I paid the same price for that 4 years ago. I'm going back and re-watching all my 4K's to see how much I was missing.

I used to cut my hair at home, I would shave it to either 1, 2, 3 or 4, but I got sick of doing the back of my head, and cleaning up the mess afterwards... I feel that the $15 I now pay a local hairdresser every 3-4 weeks is worth it for not having to deal with the hassle alone. Plus, every now and then, I would accidentally forget to put an attachment on, and would end up with a zero.

I have been using my Weber almost everyday for the last month... I cooked a couple of pork cutlets for lunch today

One of the best purchases I ever made (better than any movie or piece of home theatre equipment I have bought)... If it had lady parts, there would be no need for a woman

Anyone else into BBQing and/or smoking meat?

Also, I love my coffee/lattes... Australia is known for it's coffee amongst enthusiasts, one of the best countries in the world for coffee. Is coffee/latte art a thing in the U.S.?

For me it's real easy. We use the purple #6. Both on my hair and my beard. For my son It's a lot more complicated. I probably use 5 or 6 of the attachments to get his hair the way he likes it. Yes it was trial and error in the beginning. Watched a bunch of YouTube videos to learn how.

I haven't been to a barber shop in over 10 years. For my son: a couple of years.

I just got into it in the past year. I have a Weber kettle that is actually pretty good at smoking meat. I think I've finally mastered smoking a pork butt. The meat literally falls off the bone when I pick it up and everyone seems to really enjoy it. I'm still struggling with brisket and may just have to invest in a dedicated smoker for that. It's too hard to control the heat in my little Weber sufficiently.

I bought a large Dyan-Glo charcoal grill that I intended to use as a smoker but even after sealing it with insulating strips and LavaLock silicon it leaks smoke like crazy. And that fact that it has so many leaks makes it next to impossible to control the temps. So now I just use it when grilling for parties.

I am all about smoking and grilling meats, but use different grills depending on what is on the menu that day. I use a pellet grill for turkey, brisket, ribs, and tenderloins. I also have a Weber kettle grill that I use lump charcoal for steaks, chops, burgers, chicken, and the occasional eye round. There is a Weber Genesis gas grill that gets used if we are entertaining a big group, which obviously hasn’t happened for awhile. The latest addition is an air fryer and I am making Turkey Schnitzel tomorrow, so I am still experimenting with it. For me, it is all about the prep as I usually have everything seasoned or marinating for 24 hours, or brining for a couple of days.

I was looking at the upcoming release schedule, and realized the next couple of months could be expensive. Certain titles I am on the fence, but will definitely be picking up most:

10/6 - 300 4K & Shutter Island 4K
10/13 - District 9 4K & El Camino Blu-ray
10/20 - Back to the Future trilogy 4K
11/3 - V For Vendetta 4K, Resident Evil set 4K, Game of Thrones 4K
11/10 - Bill & Ted FTM Blu-ray
11/17 - Unhinged Blu-ray
11/24 - The Irishman Blu-ray
12/1 - Blade 4K
12/8 - Collateral 4K & Total Recall 4K
12/15 - Tenet

I'm in the same boat. I want to pick up most of those as well and am still working on my criterion and classic movie collecting in addition. My next large purchase will be the Criterion 50% off sale this month so the others may have to wait a little while.

A good friend of mine that I used to go to school with, and worked with at my previous job, recently bought a cheap Weber kettle... He's been posting his efforts on Facebook, which have all looked extremely mouth watering (he's been buying really good quality meat from a butcher near by). This is partly what has got me back into it.

I can use the Weber for smoking, but I'm a little concerned about the amount of smoke affecting my neighbours... The current building by-laws allow BBQs, but if the company that manages it were to start receiving complaints from other residents about high amounts of smoke from BBQs, this could change, so I don't want to risk it. I've been thinking about purchasing a Kamado Joe smoker, has anyone had experience with these?

Prior to the last month, that's what I would usually do too... I used the Weber for the first time in January this year in almost a year and a half. It's not as convenient as the oven is (you don't need to clean the oven every time, and put a cover on it... Plus the Weber is right next to my window on my apartment balcony, so most of the time in need to clean the window after using it too), however, for me, I can't replicate restaurant quality with my oven, but I can using the Weber Genesis (I actually think often I surpass plenty of good quality restaurants using the Weber).

I've used barrel-pit stick burner's for decades for my smoking duties, but the wife got me a vertical pellet smoker for my last birthday and I am spoiled. Sure it takes the art out of smoking meat, but sometimes you just want things easy. The incredible results are a perk too.

Harry’s blades and Cremo shaving cream for me. Once I embraced the fact that my hair is not coming back, shaving my head is the only way to go for me. Fortunately, my head shaved doesn’t frighten small children, and the wife has become used to it.

This seems like a big deal.

I have so many Disney movies in iTunes.

Just checked and some of my itunes movies got upgraded to 4K (ant man) and it seems some have not (Aladdin, beauty and the beast)

This And the YouTube 4K updates have added a lot of value to my ATV4k. Nice when things you already have get updated with goodness

Some smoke escapes from my Weber but it's not that bad and nothing like the Dyna-Glo. You can't even get near that one it pours out so much smoke. Needless to say I will never buy that brand again.

A friend of mine has an offset smoker and no smoke whatsoever comes out of it unless you open it. Which is the way a true smoker should be.

As a projector guy I do not have built in streaming apps in the display.

So I have an ATV4K for all streaming needs. Like sports for example.

Also as a person who will likely never subscribe to =D+, it’s nice that some of my iTunes movies got the UHD upgrade. For now it’s random which movies got the upgrade.

I’m pretty entrenched with Apple also, my whole family relies on MacBooks ect.

When I did get into streaming it was because the ATV4K is pretty awesome. Adding 4K YouTube and Disney 4K goes a long way to making it even better. I wish Apple Music had high res audio as that would be great too.

Cevolution we think alike, I have this same Model Weber with Natural Gas. I bought it almost 7 years ago when I moved here. I use it almost every day, on Fridays it's Rib-Eye, 4 minutes a side, with Caesar Salad, French Bread, and a bottle of La Crema Pinot Noir.
