I could understand $400-$700 being the most popular but that’s shocking. TVs over $1000 represent just 4%. the lowest for many years. Some of that will be the current climate but it still shocked me.
Why do you always read stuff, but never reference any source for your topic of the day?
I guessing its something like this article.

The falling price of a TV set is the story of the American economy - TheOutline 12/19/2019

Well a lot of people grab Black Friday TVs. The price of 50” or smaller HD sets is that cheap. It also true that manufacturers ignore building quality TVs 50” or less in size. Their stupidity. A lot of people need a small set for their family room, or bedroom. If the TV industry wants to make money they need to concentrate in the size marketplace by not selling crap small TVs.

So I have an ATV4K for all streaming needs. Like sports for example.

Also as a person who will likely never subscribe to =D+, it’s nice that some of my iTunes movies got the UHD upgrade. For now it’s random which movies got the upgrade.

I’m pretty entrenched with Apple also, my whole family relies on MacBooks ect.

When I did get into streaming it was because the ATV4K is pretty awesome. Adding 4K YouTube and Disney 4K goes a long way to making it even better. I wish Apple Music had high res audio as that would be great too.
I see. I was only joking by the way.

It’s not a court of law, just posting what I read.

For the record, I read it in the 4K HDR section of this forum.

I feel that the $15 I now pay a local hairdresser every 3-4 weeks is worth it for not having to deal with the hassle alone. Plus, every now and then, I would accidentally forget to put an attachment on, and would end up with a zero.

I have been using my Weber almost everyday for the last month... I cooked a couple of pork cutlets for lunch today

One of the best purchases I ever made (better than any movie or piece of home theatre equipment I have bought)... If it had lady parts, there would be no need for a woman

Anyone else into BBQing and/or smoking meat?

Also, I love my coffee/lattes... Australia is known for it's coffee amongst enthusiasts, one of the best countries in the world for coffee. Is coffee/latte art a thing in the U.S.?

By the time I finally get around to cutting my hair; it has become a bit long, so I start with #4 and progress up to #7 to "fine tune" everything. I cut my hair somewhat short because I can then go longer before having to do it again.

I don't mind the mess; I cut my hair in the small half bathroom which is so tiny that cleaning it from top to bottom takes little time.

I do not own any kind of BBQ and I have personally never barbecued anything myself. I have friends that do that, so I get to enjoy their efforts.

I do very little cooking, actually. I heat-up a lot of frozen stuff or canned goods. When I want something better, I dine out, get carry out, or I dine at my friend's homes when invited. The pandemic has curtailed much of that, though.

I am not a coffee drinker, but I have seen latte art made in coffee shops. I love the aroma of coffee, but curiously I do not like the taste.

I wish that chart was broken down further. I would like to know what percentages spend $2000+, $3000+, $5000+, etc. on their TVs. I know these percentages would be quite small, but I would still be curious to know.

How many people drop $60,000 to buy a TV like the Sony 98" Z9G? They make them this big and this pricey, so enough people must buy them to make offering them worthwhile.

10/13 - District 9 4K & El Camino Blu-ray
10/20 - Back to the Future trilogy 4K
11/3 - V For Vendetta 4K, Resident Evil set 4K, Game of Thrones 4K
11/10 - Bill & Ted FTM Blu-ray
11/17 - Unhinged Blu-ray
11/24 - The Irishman Blu-ray
12/1 - Blade 4K
12/8 - Collateral 4K & Total Recall 4K
12/15 - Tenet
My wishlist is growing exponentially because I have temporarily stopped buying discs in order to save my nickels and dimes to purchase a new AVR. I HATE listening with my TVs built-in speakers even though they are decent for what they are, but they just do not compare.

Luckily for me the version I got is rated higher for HDR and I saved $400. So not bad.

But don't let the price fool you. The image is amazing. Rtings.com had it as the best LCD to buy since it was released in January 2019 up until a month ago. It has the brightest HDR of any TV available and I can believe it. My wife and son, who really couldn't care less about picture quality, were both blown away when I put in Bumblebee in Dolby Vision. My old LG UH8500 pales in comparison and I paid the same price for that 4 years ago. I'm going back and re-watching all my 4K's to see how much I was missing.
I am glad that you are so happy with your new TV. I know a few people that are well pleased with Vizio.

I, too, have a LG UH8500 60" TV that I keep because it supports 3D, but my newer Sony 85X900F is an order of magnitude better and not just due to the size difference. It can get so bright sometimes that it makes me squint, but only in scenes where appropriate. For an LCD, I think that it handles blacks well, too.

Never heard of a red back spider but just looked it up. I would have left the grill there and gone somewhere to change my shorts.

Not long ago I procured Corel Draw Home and have completed my first drawing, it is my HTPC rear panel. The motherboard was first used in my office PC and a drawing was made back then with Corel WordPerfect Presentations. The bitmap of the MB rear panel connections was imported into the Corel Draw version. Exported PNG version below.

I am sure Japan is a lot worse because they don't have a majority of people using larger sets (cramped living spaces) and most haven't even moved to 4K.

There are only two contenders at present: the Marantz SR 8015 and the outgoing Denon X6500H. I prefer the Marantz (it's all John's fault ), but it is considerably more expensive ($3200 vs. $1800).

x6700 dip ($2399) as we get closer to BF, but still too early for these guys to break up this pandemic price gouging log jam.

open box SR 8012 w/warranty is $2349.99

Open box x8500 full warranty available at dealer for $3195. Same has new $1799 x6500 is still cool deal. This has been a summer of misery with retailers taking advantage of lower shipments from Asia to consumers to maintain higher pricing.

This is partly what has got me back into it.

I can use the Weber for smoking, but I'm a little concerned about the amount of smoke affecting my neighbours... The current building by-laws allow BBQs, but if the company that manages it were to start receiving complaints from other residents about high amounts of smoke from BBQs, this could change, so I don't want to risk it. I've been thinking about purchasing a Kamado Joe smoker, has anyone had experience with these?

Prior to the last month, that's what I would usually do too... I used the Weber for the first time in January this year in almost a year and a half. It's not as convenient as the oven is (you don't need to clean the oven every time, and put a cover on it... Plus the Weber is right next to my window on my apartment balcony, so most of the time in need to clean the window after using it too), however, for me, I can't replicate restaurant quality with my oven, but I can using the Weber Genesis (I actually think often I surpass plenty of good quality restaurants using the Weber).
I just can’t be bothered. If I want something extra special, I have some good local eateries (well in non COVID times at least).

If I’m off work, I will sometimes cook from fresh but rarely. It’s normally just store bought Cumberland sausage and mash or a nice Cod fillet with chips. I’m especially partial to a nice Steak and Kidney pie with pickled Red cabbage strips and roast potatoes.
