There is content on the boxes. When people buy these boxes, they have all the films available right away. How does it get on the boxes? Do the faries put it there? Why would that be described as 'fully loaded' if the box had no content on it? The clueless people who buy these boxes, DO NOT have to do any installing or indeed anything technical. When they attach the box to the tv, the content is ready to watch. Someone has done all the technical stuff then sold it on.

Thank you! For the love of God it's not difficult to understand what an app is and what it does. These damn boxes don't come fully loaded with anything. They do nothing whatsoever that a $20 Android phone can't do. |

This article may settle the Kodi argument....
http://www.express.co.uk/life-style/...-sports-movies Apparently these devices can be altered by ones self or bought with preloaded software that violates copyright law. Either way, the use of Kodi as a whole may be legal, but we all know why people have and use it. ![]() |

I understand what you're saying about the USA considering that I live here too. The problem is, the experts disagree with your argument. Kodi may be legal here in the USA, but it's what you do with it that matters. Kodi just barely skates by the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) and depending on the user, violates it. http://wtvpc.com/is-kodi-legal-as-us...-do-questions/ https://thevpn.guru/is-kodi-legal-sa...vacy-security/ https://www.groundedreason.com/what-...d-is-it-legal/ The point is, if you use Kodi to access content that you did NOT pay for, then it is illegal and violates the DMCA. There is no gray area there. We all know why people use Kodi and it's not for legal reasons.... I hear it all the time at work. Hell, my brother-in-law's house was raided byt he FBI and the US Marshals Service over this so I've seen it firsthand. Last edited by Blu-ray Neo; 03-26-2017 at 02:58 PM. |

The apps don't contain any content. The applications that are added to Kodi allow the user to connect to torrent swarms that allow you to stream movies and content that do not download to the device itself. You are misinformed on this topic. You are streaming in a way that is similar to Netflix. If you have the Netflix app, you don't have all of the content on the device itself.

By the way, I am a Sky customer and I wouldn't dream of using such a box. I am going to research and get back to you. If I completely wrong and I have been misinformed I will offer the appropriate aplologies. Last edited by Steedeel; 03-26-2017 at 05:50 PM. |

None of this is relevant to the thread topic. Why did we start talking about piracy? |

I have been reading this thread for a few days and I think the wrong language to use is saying that physical media is dying or will be dead. It won't. It will just be pushed back to a niche method of consuming media. I am old enough to have been around for VHS on. I personally have become tired of the collecting of anything, never mind physical media. I have turned to streaming the majority of my media. I purchased Rogue One on Vudu and plan to watch it tonight. I don't think it's constructive to criticize the way anyone chooses to consume media. If you like physical, then by all means stick with it. I have found that I tend to watch more of my library now that it's just a button push away. I am enjoying the convenience of streaming while also enjoying the prospect of less clutter around the house. Different strokes.
