Was actually going to create this thread because I hadn't seen anyone talking about it - glad someone else did first!
Didn't hear a thing about this, happened to see it was new on Hulu - said what the heck and dove right in. Fantastic start. I came for Bridges, stayed for Lithogow. I have to admit, they totally got me in episode 2 when [Show spoiler] .So far, it seems to be like "The Sinner" on steroids. And speaking of steroids - my goodness - I can't believe how physical Jeff Bridges gets - the guy is 72! I have a strong feeling this show doesn't have the budget for face replacement, and most of that stunt work really looks like him. Or at least it's so well shot I can't really tell otherwise. But much of it is very clear, that's him. This show is definitely an unexpected treat so far. I look forward to seeing where it goes. |

Only seen the first two episodes so far, yet it's clear this will be a spectacular show. The "fun" part hasn't even begun yet.

I also enjoyed the first two episodes. And I really enjoy the aesthetic approach of the series. Had no idea Jon Watts had anything to do with this. Just further reinforces how Kevin Feige will neuter any filmmaker that comes into the MCU.
My only issue with the series so far is Bridges is undeniably showing his age. And not just in terms of the physical performance this series requires, but some of his line delivery sounds so lazy and uninspired. I'm also not a fan of this developing sub-plot with the female companion that was introduced a little too early in this series. It detracts from an otherwise intense and nicely paced cat-and-mouse series between both Bridges' and Lithgrow's characters. I actually want to know more about the latter's backstory pertaining to the family tragedy that's been alluded to already. Looking forward to watching the third episode later today. |

I've noticed he has become kinda marble/mush mouthed when he talks, and not just in his performances, on talk shows as well. Almost like a severe underbite or something.

YES! This is fantastic. I'm even more happy to have picked up the show knowing that it's already been renewed.

The show’s premise of
[Show spoiler] is not very believable, but the show is very watchable. Jeff Bridges is great in this role. The wife actress from Condor is pretty good here too , though her character is more conventional.Great streaming quality in what seems to be 4K too. |

Really nice to see an old-school, adult, slow-burn spy thriller. It's maybe a tad over-written - even the smallest exchange seems to have some philosophical subtext - but otherwise it feels authentic, like SYRIANA, and the bursts of action are brutal and realistic, evoking memories of MARATHON MAN.
All the cast are great, though I still can't fathom why Jeff Bridges's voice has changed so completely in the last decade or so. His voice sounds twenty years older than he is, like some old prospector, chewing on a wad of tobacco. Bizarre. |
