The combination of the better subs for the French track plus the distortion-free English dub seals the deal. Price difference only a few bucks anyway.
The only other huge difference is that the two great documentaries on the Shout set are playable on both American systems, while most Americans can't watch the docs and the other exclusive bonus features on the Studio Canal set, because they're on the region-locked BDs.

Don't watch extras

So in summary, pretty much buy the version that corresponds to your BD region, unless you're region free, then get the SC?

My thought is:

If you care about extras and are Region A-locked, get the Shout Factory 4K.

If you are Region B-locked or region free, get the Studio Canal 4K.

If you just want the best movie presentation and don't care about extras, get the Studio Canal 4K, since region A can still play the movie disc no problem

Yep, that's pretty much my thinking.

Only one caveat, I think people said the video file size for the feature film is slightly larger on the Shout. That said, I watched the SC all the way through and watched scenes in the Shout, I own both, and I didn't notice any huge difference in motion on my OLED.

Yeah I did some screenshot science and the difference between the two would not be noticable in motion even on a large display

So the general consensus is to get the SC release?

Not really. I found I liked the US subtitles so...do whatever you want.

No, it depends on what you care more about. I think most people care most about the best picture quality usually and that is the Shout.

This is the way.

We screened the SC BotW to a full house last night along with a few first-timers, and what an absolute treat. I had already taken a peek at the restoration so I knew the disc would not disappoint, and everyone was amazed at how great the disc looked and sounded. In fact, the first-timers were shocked that it was released over twenty years ago.

The subtitles are spot-on for the SC release, and in my opinion that is the determining factor. It's the same restoration, the disc mastering is well done for both versions, so the image quality is indistinguishable.

The fact this title has received a UHD release is a very welcome surprise, and is sure to be in my Top 5 catalog releases of the year.
