Magnetar UDP800 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player

Just purchased this Model Magnetar UDP-800. Have set up the necessary settings and working good with the exception of playing music through USB using WD portable drive with 2TB storage.
Music format in drive is FLAC. Would not play and display this message "Unsupported Audio - Not support to play this file for audio code!".

Appreciate help from any members as to where did I go wrong, perhaps my setting?.

My Magnetar UDP-800 arrived today. It has a build date of Dec. 2022. Version 513-USA01.

I've seen posts in this forum and others stating that it will play .ISO files. I have many of my disc collection backed up on hard drives (both 4K and 1080 BD) in this format.

When I plug in the HDD into either the front or back UISB port, it recognizes the drive, allows me to view all the directories and files (including the .ISO backups)..... But when an .ISO file is selected, the screen reverts to the main UB-800 player menu and the disc tray opens.

How to play an .ISO file??

I assume your ISO files have DV? It doesn’t play ISO files with DV (yet?)

It won't play ANY .ISO file. Not even a regular Blu-Ray disc.

Sorry MY bad. It should play ANY ISO, but it doesn’t play .mkv with DV properly

I see. Thanks for the clarification.

Wonder if I should try updating the firmware? Haven't plugged in my ethernet cable yet.

You should try that. Since I got it last month I have received 3 fw updates.

Firmware updated to:

Version: 626-USA01
Build Date: Aug 10 2023(8)

Still no .ISO playback.

Is there a setting that needs to be enabled that I'm not aware of???

The chip can play ISO, but I doubt a (jailbreak) firmware that support that will be available. This is an official licensed player, they simple can`t do that.

Among other things, ISO files cannot be played and MKV files are not played with immersive audio. These restrictions will probably only interest the fewest. After all, most people use such a high-quality player primarily to play the disc collection. Media formats that we have played and tested over the network without any problems are MKV, AVI, MP4, WAV, FLAC, APE, M4A and DSD. You can access the home computer or NAS via the local network with DLNA or SMB protocols. This generally ensures a better multimedia experience.

Does the HDMI output (that is not audio only) also play multichannel dsf files. Or is it the audio only output. If the HDMI output does play these channels, will it also show the video (if I am playing it on roon will it show the roon screen)?
