My #1 most wanted blu ray. I saw this at the local theater in the 80's when I was a kid. Such a great movie.

I did, too, on a visit to Peru. I think I still have the old DVD somewhere. I can finally retire it.

It also qualified for the B2G1 so I got my order in already, little under $13 for it. Looks like they've removed it from the sale though, gotta be quick to pick up the preorders before they start removing them.

Wonder why this one is a steelbook? Paramount doesn't release a lot of new to Blu-ray films on steelbook and not sure if that's ever happened before in the last few years.

The price on Amazon.com is 19.99 USD while on Amazon.ca it's 22.99 CAD, first time we get really close prices in Canada not the x1.5 equivalent in CAD

I was going through my sent mail then I remembered that I requested that title a year or so ago by emailing Paramount. In the screenshot, I asked for it to be included in the presents line I guess that didn't happen 🙃 but at least we got it on disc, so if you want a title so bad , you might want to consider sending an email to ParamountMoviesSupport@paramount.com and ask them politely if they would add it, my request took 1 year and 4 months in the making

I see this is a “Limited Edition” from the slip image above.
What’s limited? The steelbook or the entire run?

The Steelbook, but they'll probably make many of them. I imagine if/when it sells out, it'll be replaced by a regular release in plastic case.

Some parts of it are a bit silly (the hallucinations in the cemetery) but overall it's a great film. Pre-ordered!

Also, I can thank this movie for my affection for Nicholas Rowe. Whenever I see him in anything now, I smile.

Ouch! A few cents short of $40 with shipping and VAT included. Think I'll wait for Wow to list it.

Belgium The game is not afoot for YSH European fans

I am wondering if you realize how lucky you guys are in the US: Young Sherlock Holmes has been announced and is already available for pre-order on Amazon, Target and the like. Across the Atlantic (meaning Europe and the UK), it is nowhere to be found. As a Frenchman living in France, my only way to get it is to order it on Amazon.com, which is gonna charge USD19.99 plus USD10 of shipping/handling fee and another USD 6.00 for VAT (Value Added Tax, which hovers around 20% in Europe), adding up to a total USD 36.00.
You would think that is all but it’s not: the French Post Office then charges you an additional USD 12 as an import handling fee. So all told, this is costing me USD 48!!!
And that is hoping that this blu-ray is not region A locked.
Needless to mention all the releases by Criterion, Kino Lorber, Shout Factory and sometimes even Paramount and other major studios which are region A locked and can’t be ordered from European retail websites anyway.
Fortunately there is more to life than blu-rays, but still, this is frustrating for movie-buffs like me.

That sucks, I'm sorry.

The UK has released some stuff on BluRay I'd like to have in the States, but alas...

For region locking, unfortunately Paramount is not transparent about it. If it does not say anywhere that it is region free, I would assume it is region locked unless someone tests the disc and says otherwise. I can post about it once I get the disc in hand: I have a region free BD player that I can switch to region B to see if the region locked message will pop-up.

I was checking the internet if there was anything more known about the disc specifications and I stumbled on a custom cover of the movie.
It's interesting to see on the back that they mention bonus features.
Are these coming from a laserdisc? And will these have a chance of making it to the upcoming disc?

Hi Romuald 121, I agree (unfortunately) and would not be surprised if it were region A only just like the Addams Family (with more Mamushka) and the Almost Famous (Remastered) blu-rays. Thanks for the offer, much appreciated and looking forward to hearing from you on the region coding tab!
