From what I can see this appears to be a true digibook and not either a digipak or one of those releases with the separate book. I only like the real digibooks. Can anyone confirm this as being a real digibook before I go ahead and order this?

That is exactly what this is, a Digipak with a separate book. Here's a video of what we'll be getting with this Little Mermaid release, seems to be the new packaging for a lot of Target Exclusives these days:

Yeah, I was afraid of that. I was hoping it would be a true digibook, like Pinocchio, Bambi, and the likes. Oh well, as long as the DC movies keep having target Digibooks...

So was I, had a feeling it would be one of those digipaks with a separate book. Not what I like. Looks like I'll just get the BB steelbook for this and now won't have to double dip to get both.

My order is backordered from Target. Did anybody's pre-order ship? I plan to pick one up in store just in case...

Mine got backordered (est. delivery March 11th) a few days ago. I waited until today to see if it would ship since they had “in stock, receive in 2 days” on the page all day today. It didn’t so I just went to the store and bought it, then cancelled my preorder.

Your money, your call.

I have both, but for me (if I had to choose one), I would go with the Target Digipack (I'm one of the few who isn't a fan of the Steelbook's artwork). It seems that some folks are having a difficult time securing a copy locally, but they're plentiful in my area (at least 4 of the 5 stores in a 25-mile radius have copies on-hand).

Paige O'Hara is not a professional artist. Her Ariel art is proportionally off which is why people find it disquieting.

That being said, it is still a SteelBook and I'm not a fan of the digipacks so I'm going for the SteelBook.

If your artwork is listed for sale as part of the Collectors Editions and the Disney Fine Art collection, whether you were commissioned and/or receive a portion from each sale, in my eyes, you are a "professional artist".

Paige may not have formal training, but she is a practising artist who has sold her art through the Disney Fine Art gallery. Even if she does not earn her primary income through painting, she has elevated her status beyond that of an amateur or hobbyist once she's paid for her work. There is no standard definition for a professional artist. You may not perceive her in this light, but I do, even if I don't regard her work highly.

When I say a professional artist, I mean an artist who is able to make their livelihood through their work.

Just because you sell a few pieces of art, doesn't make you a professional artist, even if it is on the Disney Fine Art collection, which I'm sure has nothing to do with her reputation as the voice actor for Belle.

Jim Carrey is an artist too, BTW. I'm sure he's sold pieces of his work.

Can’t justify spending money on all these releases. For me it’s come down to what I REALLY LOVE.
